Out of the multitude of countries that have had hybrid economies for decades, and for the forty years in Post New Deal era, when american prosperity was unrivaled in world history, you're going to pick out two years of the Carter adminstration that were beset by oil shocks and inflationary pressures? Two fucking years, out of all that history of relatively sustained prosperity in hybrid economies?

Whenever the shit hits the fan in one of these mixed economies you guys blame it on some perversion of the ideal (which is never really stated, but...). Same crime of which you accuse libertarians, american conservatives or communists.

The median household income has increased 10% over the past 30 years. That's with the addition of an addition of another breadwinner.

Not really. I think we could do much better, just pointing out that cypress talks out of both sides of his mouth. When he wants to praise the mixed economy he tells us to overlook the downturns and focus on the long range, then does the reverse when he wants to criticize that mixed economy.

But your numbers don't match what I find. Median income is up about 20%

and two earners as a share of married couples has only gone up about 6%.

Since I would guess single parent households are up I would be very skeptical that two income households has done anything but decline.
