That's why I tend to roll my eyes when some of these Cowboy Economist refer to any sort of market regulation as "That thar be SOCIALISM!". It's dumb. Yes, market economies are superior to command economies but market economies only work well when they are well regulated.

Unregulated capitalism is akin to a racehorse without a jockey.
It's powerful and fast but without guidance it's not likely to find a strong finish on it's own.

Well I didn't give you an opinion, I asked you a question.

If you don't trust the free market, ultimately you don't trust yourself to make buying decisions. Because that is what the free market is.

Aren't you smart enough to tell if you are getting a good deal or not?

This is a complete falsehood not grounded in any fact whatsoever. Go look up the Depression of 1920-1921. See what happened. See what the government did or more importantly didn't do. And then see the results.
