Sell Texas to Mexico instead of letting it secede would be the best solution.

Just ship them over the border and let them work as gardeners and painters. Let them see what life is like with the Mexicans as their bosses.

Did Obama mention a specific time frame in which he would respond to said petitions?

Maybe crazy Texan secessionists just need a little more patience.
