I just watched the eclipse it was awesome. During the totality you could see the irregularities of the moon's surface. Anyone else watch it today?

That is sometimes called the 'diamond glitter'. It's the Sun shining through mountain ranges on the Moon. Nothing like it!

You're lucky, EL. I'm not in the path of totality, but quite a bit of the sun is now covered. Unfortunately, a bunch of cloud cover just moved in, so the viewing is limited. It is noticably darker, however.

We had clouds earlier in the morning but the clouds went away for the Eclipse. It was awesome.

Roughly 90%+ here in Southern WI... Didn't bother to watch it... Did notice that it got a bit darker outside for a short while before returning back to normal again.

We were 99 percent, but the clouds screwed it all up. I saw a total when I was 15. You will remember it for the rest of your life.

I saw people ooohing and aaahing on television as they watched the eclipse.

I don't get it. It's not magic. We know what's happening. What's the fuss?

It reminds me of the Grand Canyon which the Gestapo dragged me off to see.
The Grand Canyon is just a huge fucking hole in the ground.
There was nothing to see.

I remember the first time I saw the bright lights of Las Vegas.
That was something to see. I'll never forget it.

I remember the first time I went to a World Championship boxing match in person.
All the celebrities were in the crowd.
Everybody was all dressed up back in those days.
You could cut the excitement in the air with a knife.

That was something to see.

An eclipse? A canyon? Please.

A symphony by Beethoven...just a bunch of noise?

A painting by Van Gogh...just a bunch of colored oil spread on canvas?

A poem by Poe...just a bunch of words?

There is usually more to you, Nifty. WTF?

So many people watching the sun through paper framed sunglasses. Gotta make you wonder...

Quite the experience, even though we didn't get complete totality here... Still had a great time watching...FB_IMG_1712611990629.jpg

You just agreed with me without realizing it, Frank.

All man-made things, not nature's raw materials with which man can work.

I really appreciate all the things that you've mentioned.

I like nature also, but I see it, I say, That's lovely, and that's the end of it.

It was not much here... but did it bring JFK back to run with Trump as his VP?
