Britany Jacobs, the girlfriend of the man shot and killed in a Florida parking lot last week, says her boyfriend was just coming to her defense and the gunman “wanted someone to be angry at.” Now she wants “justice,” she says.

Jacobs, who witnessed the shooting along with the couple’s 5-year-old son, said she and her two small children were waiting in the car for her boyfriend, Markeis McGlockton, while he ran into a convenience store in Clearwater, Florida. Onlooker Michael Drejka got out of his parked car and began “harassing” her about being parked in a handicap space, she said.

Surveillance video showed McGlockton exiting the store and shoving Drejka to the ground. Drejka then drew a handgun and shot and killed McGlockton.
“He wanted somebody to be angry at. He just wanted someone to fight him,” Jacobs said in an interview with "Good Morning America" on Monday. “He was picking a fight. I’m just sitting, waiting for my family to come back to the car.”

Non-handicapped people parking in a handicapped spot is thoughtless and ignorant but not a capital crime. The killer is a repeat offender as far as confronting customers. I bet if the races were reversed there would be no stand your ground law to excuse the perp.

I used to think Florida was a saving grace in the south, but it's fallen off the rocker big time lately. Stand your ground basically means if someone gets in your face, you can give an excuse that you felt threatened, and be excused for murder. I'm pretty sure a black man asking where a restaurant is in town, would make Texty, and his pond scum ilk feel threatened.

Stand your ground means you can shoot "someone" (read scary black guy) breaking into your shed with a $100 push mower in it on your property, if I understand Florida law correctly.

I used to think Florida was a saving grace in the south, but it's fallen off the rocker big time lately. Stand your ground basically means if someone gets in your face, you can give an excuse, that you felt threatened, and be excused for murder. I'm pretty sure a black man asking, where a restaurant is in town, would make Texty, and his pond scum ilk feel threatened.

Sounds like he is a murderer just waiting for the right target. It would be karmic if someone saw him coming and blew him away, using the excuse that they feared for his life having seen how he shot someone in cold blood.

This is kind of interesting. The last thing I saw on this was that at the moment the guy on the ground pulled his gun, the guy standing up moved backward, which wouldn't be threatening. But, I can see the guy on the ground being pissed off at being assaulted (pushed to the ground).
