The latest stupidity with EV's Dodge pick up with V6 onboard charger

Yep folks, you can't make stuff like this up nobody would believe it. But it's true.

Because straight all-EV vehicle sales are plummeting, polling shows little public interest in EV's, Dodge has decided to come out with an "EV" pickup truck that has a V6 engine to drive a generator to charge the battery while you drive! It cures range anxiety by using an ICE!

With electric vehicle sales growth slowing, Stellantis Ram brand has an answer: An onboard charger

Now, for those of us who aren't stupid, why not just buy the V6 gasoline version and ditch the extra complexity and weight of the generator, battery pack, and electric drive system...?

Global EV Sales for 2023 H1. Global EV sales continue strong. A total of 6 million new Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) and Plug-in Hybrids (PHEV) were delivered during the first half of 2023, an increase of +40 %. 4,27 million were pure electric BEVs and 1,76 million were PHEVs.

Yeah but EVs are essential to virtue signaling. EVs help us identify the nuts we prefer to avoid but in the psst we had to first engage them to learn just how fucked they are. Now we only need to see what they are driving to initiate our internal freak avoidance mechanism. Sk.maybe they're a blessing in disguise.

Are EV sales declining? Electrifying the car market may be getting harder. Here's why

5 Reasons Why Electric Vehicle Sales Have Slowed

More alarm bells sound on slowing demand for electric vehicles
https://www.reuters.com/business/au...-slowing-demand-electric-vehicles-2023-10-25/

What is happening is that the 'True Believers' in EV's have had demand met--that is they've bought into the market and now have an EV--while the other something like 80% of the market has little or no interest in purchasing one. Thus, demand has leveled off and even fallen as the only remaining market for EV's is replacing those in service as they wear out.
Without government intervention and FORCING these unwanted vehicles down the public's throats, there isn't going to be more than a few percent of the market buying one and that demand is now met.

There must have been instructions sent out by rightwing media just in the past six months ordering MAGA morons to complain about EVs.

You know that left to their own devices, MAGA morons would have never independently come with the idea to screech continuously about EVs

Since you love gasoline so much, why don't you pour yourself a glass full and drink it?

And....

Now we have the Left chiming in with insults and ad hominem in a pathetic--but expected and usual--attempt to end debate because they cannot tolerate dissent and have no effective means of countering it. They can't debate an issue to save their lives.

They don't have the truth on their side, so that's all they have left.

a pickup that can travel 145 miles (235 kilometers) on electricity,
Oh.. it's a plug in hybrid!!

ROFLMAO. Do you know about the Chevy Volt?

Well maybe they should just focus on hybrids instead of all electric. There are significant advantages to owning EV to over an ICE or even a hybrid.

The only advantage to a hybrid is lower emissions. If that is something you are concerned about, then buy one. If not, then it is an irrelevant advantage.

Yes, it's a hybrid. That is a step backwards towards a full ICE vehicle rather than a zero-emissions EV like places like California are demanding you drive with no exceptions.

LOL.
So now you are arguing that if we can't score a touchdown then we shouldn't try to kick a field goal.

By the way, the majority of the US isn't California and your claims about California are wrong as well.

What reason, other than beyond the poorly understood concept of "climate change," and in the name of asinine zero-tolerance environmentalism, should the public-at-large be FORCED to adopt EV's and zero emissions vehicles?

This is how stupid Gorebal Warming "science" has become. The scientists don't know their collective asses from their elbows...

The deal as I see it.
Brandon stepped into office with the promise to eliminate the use of oil/natural gas. He then mandated all vehicle manufacturers achieve outrageous mileage averages per manufacturer in a very short time frame. The auto makers were forced to produce a certain percentage of their output, vehicles that meet the silly new government requirements. They literally had no choice but to produce a number of very high mileage vehicles. Yes, they will sell you an all-electric Ford 150 pickup which gets one million miles per gallon of gas because it uses no gas so the government is happy and Ford can sell two normal pickups that get 20MPG. Forget the fact the EV Ford pickup, towing a boat, will need a four hour recharge after 96 mi.

New business for the dealer, they sell you a gasoline powered generator that fits conveniently in the bed of the useless electric pickup they just sold you.

Honda will make a fortune selling small gas generators that ride in the trunk of a Teslafor use when joey wet panties car dies on the highway and he has half a day to spare waiting for a recharge.

So it's back to the hybrids again. A Prius in a truck.
