Nowhere is a republic defined as SOLELY/ONLY a democracy.
Any nation state can, (and many do), define themselves as republics.
The question is, imbecile, what KIND of republic defines America. America is defined correctly and honestly as a ”Constitutional Republic” because the Constitution, (the rule of all American law), limits the amount of democracy applied to govern the nation. Democracy is only constitutionally principled action in the right of the people to vote, to elect representatives that are sworn to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution and not the prejudiced whims and biases of the majority masses.
