the USA is a democracy

I fail to see why Evince even wants to convince people we do live in a democracy.

I would imagine that, given her views as Ive seen them, she would want to force general change and appeal to other emotions than the ones she usually digs at.

Why does it matter what form of government people think America is Desh? Like usually people have a followup point/agenda when they make this kind of assertion.
Like once we decide to agree America is a democracy, what then?

This is far from a new agenda from you.

Her point is very simple because she is after all very simple. If you say anything other than America is a democracy then to Desh you "hate America" and you "hate democracy". Once she has established that in her mind it allows her to be dismissive of your views on everything else. I mean why should anyone who is against democracy be taken seriously on anything else?

And that folks is the Deshtard brain explained

The USA is INTENDED to be a Representative Democracy.

With representatives sworn to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution and not the whims, prejudices and collective clueless opinions of a majority mob.

Do you understand that I will fucking kill you dead if you ever threaten me?

Again....THE US CONSTITUTION (Article 4 Section 4 Clause 1) and the Federalist papers (No. 10) are just figments of someone's imagination. Again...presenting pasted/parroted ad hominem OPINIONS does not remove the actual historical Constitutional Founding Principles. This nation is a Republic. If you want to witness and read about a historical democracy that separated God and State simply read the former USSR constitution.

Question? Where have you buried all the dead bodies? Once more the liberal words for today.

Megalomania, Narcissism :)

You mean like the "REPUBLIC" of North Korea? How about the "REPUBLIC" of Cuba?

Very like the 'democracy' current in a certain large plutocracy well-known to us all, in my view, though Cuba certainly looks after its people much better.

That's why they drive 1940's & 1950's American cars and build wooden rafts and use old inner tubes to try to float to America, huh imbecile?

In her mind, if you say anything other than "I agree" to (fill in the blank) she claims, she considers you as a hater, racist, bigot, homophobe, or any other card playing term she chooses to use.

The only plausible reason to make the statement found in the OP is to dismiss / ignore the limitations that are inherent in the US Constitution.

The purposeful misrepresentation intended in the equivalency drawn between the republic established by the US Constitution and a modern characterization of what a democracy is, is just a rhetorical device to argue against the respect for fundamental rights which are held to pre-exist the Constitution and thus be legally considered to exist without reference to the Constitution.

A foundational maxim of the American republic is that fundamental rights are not subject to a vote, they do not depend on public opinion nor referendum to exist, be respected or protected by law . . . That is arguably the most important distinction between a "democracy" under which the majority rules and a constitutional republic under which the whims of public opinion are constrained. That singular point is an important intellectual integrity check to challenge someone promoting the idea that there is no distinction between a republic and a democracy (at least when one's understanding of the US system of government is the topic of debate).

That is a test which I am sure that our dear evince will fail rather spectacularly . . .

The USA is INTENDED to be a Representative Democracy.

The USA is an Oligarchy and has been so for decades.

dear fucking idiot,

every dictionary and encyclopedia say the USA is a democracy because a republic is a type of democracy.

WHY do you people on the right always LIE about this?

It's the "letting in" that's relevant to the issue, moron! They all want to come here and not because we're a gang of fucking commies like you YET!

Not at all curious that a fucking moron like you cannot distinguish and understand the words "CAN BE, MIGHT BE, SOME ARE, SOME CLAIM TO BE."

The difference here in America, imbecile is that America is a "CONSTITUTIONAL" republic, governed by a limited democratic process and bound by a constitutional rule of law, whereby elected representation is "SWORN" to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution and not the whims, prejudices and mindless opinions of idiots like you or any majority mob calling themselves a democracy.

"Democracy is two wolves and a sheep deciding what to have for lunch."

the very dictionary definition says a republic is a democracy

that is not true.....here is the "very dictionary definition" of rebublic......it does not contain the word democracy....
