Seems to me that the smart move is Never reinforce defeat. If Ukraine is "outgunned" that badly, they're finished short of the US stepping in and fighting their war for them. I am definitely opposed to that happening.

I'm not.
Many, many years ago, I was sent to war for a much less valid reason.
No legitimate reason at all, actually.
Were I a young man today, drafted to fight THIS war,
to defend Western Europe from Putin,
I'd have felt a much stronger sense of purpose.
