This is the end of the road for Putin

Guno צְבִי

We fight, We win
He may just survive an armed rebellion by Yevgeny Prigozhin and his Wagner mercenaries but he will be permanently damaged and his Kremlin days are numbered.

Putin’s aura of invincibility and control, badly fractured by his misguided and failed invasion of Ukraine, will now be shattered.

Russians like their leaders to be tough. Any sign of weakness can be terminal and the rebellion, as well as Putin’s pleading address to Russians for their support, has made him look weak.

Millions of Russians who had once looked up to Putin as their indomitable saviour, a man they cheered for restoring Russian pride after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 and the humiliation of the 1990s, will instead see a damaged and failed man.

Which makes him all the more dangerous, because he has enough loyalist to lash out against all perceived enemies....case in point the Wagner now moving to Belarus and the threat of putting tactical nukes there.

What I find fascinating is how the usual right wing parrots and pundits are not whooping with joy at this possible turn of events. Instead, they seem to be trying to blame our gov't for inciting all of this and giving Putin some weird sort of backhanded support. One has to wonder would they be bleating the same noise if this happened under Reagan or the Bush Crime family or even the Orange Oaf.

Time will tell.

Putin has his highest approval rating ever and the war in Ukraine is going great for him

He squashed this little rebellion in around a day

He is doing great

You a fan? Because all those draft age folks high tailing it out of Russia at the beginning of all this sure as hell counters what you say here. What went down with the Wagner's still has our local media, military and intelligence folks scrambling for some answers. Just saying.

You apparently haven’t heard about all the Ukranians fleeing their nation

Not to nearly the extent Russians did. That always happens in war. Ukraine doesn’t seem to have a problem getting volunteers including women. Have you heard of Russian women volunteering to destroy Ukraine?

Why do you find this fascinating? Are conservatives not behaving as you have been ordered to mindlessly believe they will?

Instead, they seem to be trying to blame our gov't for inciting all of this ...
When did I do that?

... and giving Putin some weird sort of backhanded support.

One has to wonder
Nope. Nobody needs to wonder why the world does not function according to your misconceptions.

I can only speak for me, but no.

If you are running out of crayons, just say so.

That's because THEY WERE THE ONE'S BEING INVADED!

The Russian citizens that booked en masse at the beginning of the Russian invasion of the Ukraine did so BECAUSE THEY DID NOT AGREE WITH THEIR GOV'T INVADING A SOVEREIGN NATION UNPROVOKED. They also didn't want to be "drafted".

So your initial claim of Putin's polled popularity is a dubious one at best.

Your liberal lies are obvious

So you're either just a MAGA troll giving the gain saying to someone you deem "liberal", or you're some sort of cheerleader for a near despotic leader trying resurrect the old KGB/Soviet Union. Or your an employee just keeping the discussion going for the advertisers. Either way, not a good image for you.

Many of their soldiers realize they can’t win so are dropping their rifles and simply going home

Even if Russia takes their nation not much will actually change so for many it’s not something worth dying for

Russians left the country because they didn't want to fight in Ukraine. Putin was rounding up people to send to Ukraine in violation of signed contracts that precluded them being sent to fight outside of Russia. The best way to avoid the illegal conscription was to just not be in Russia to be rounded-up.

This forced Putin to clean out his prisons of all the HIV-infected prisoners and send them as the next wave, without proper training, until Putin can round up others by force. Those infected prisoners have been informed that they will not be receiving medical treatment in the event of any injury, due to their infection.

What's interesting to me is that now the leader of the Wagner (no Mr. Nice Guy to be sure) will probably be a target of KGB assassins.

But

The Wagner has been Putin's mercenaries doing their dirt in parts of the African continent. So unless Putin is willing to close shop there, he would have to have a replacement in mind, which might be difficult to do on the fly.

But

No one knows exactly what was the turning point in what looked like a potential coup in Russia ... at least that's what the Intelligence agencies and local "experts" are telling the MSM. So we can all speculate...but as usual, time will tell.

 Are you going to cop to the FACT that I disproved your original contention and follow-up "explanation"? Because this moot point response of yours does not do that.
