This is why I voted for Trump

Of course. Fox News/MSNBC. What I find laughable is that the right whines about this while citing Breitbart, gatewaypundit and american thinker.

They are counters to the mainstream. When the slant is heavy in one direction among most sources, you need the opposite slant to balance things out. I don't take any single source as gospel. I read sources of various slants to figure out the truth that is somewhere in the middle.

It's not about social justice. It's about activists trying to get as much as they can out of the system while attempting to get white people to humiliate themselves. Sadly, about half of the white population is either dumb enough to go along with this or too meek to fight back.

Equality isn't the goal. It never is. That's only a transitional phase that is followed by favoritism and dominance. Majorities of any society should be wise to keep this in mind, and plenty of Islamic cultures understand this principle, which is why they don't relinquish their dominance usually.

A lot of other non-Western societies also understand this.

No, it is all about social justice. You are another Repub just playing opposites. We know what BLM is about. We know that police have beaten and killed minorities for decades. That is what started the mess and that is what it addresses. It is what Kaepernick was about. It is what Rodney King was about. The list of people killed by cops is long. You do not have a clue what this is about.

I know that police abuse is not disproportionately toward minorities. Multiple studies (one of which was even done by a black professor that normally leans left) have shown that, after accounting for everything else, cops actually tend to be less likely to kill black people.

The situation is being blown out of proportion specifically because it drives division and because it gives extremists an opportunity to demand things.

The media just grabs onto extreme situations that do not fit the norm. Activists then pass this off as if it happens all the time, when it actually doesn't.

Well, it's good to hear you disown BLM and Antifa then.

Your definition of lunatic and mine may be different. BLM is not an organization. It is a principle. I adhere to that principle. Individuals who use it as cover for looting I have no time for. Antifa is a your favorite boogyman now I guess. If there is any organization to it, it is far left, and a waste of time.

BLM is a principle based on the lie that black people are targeted unfairly by police.

Learn to avoid making absolute claims in debating lol.

Democrats are counting on voters to ignore economic good news and go with the CBO report. Good luck with that.

The ‘science’ is saying that the COVID death rate is dropping even as the case numbers are rising. To any voters, who are able to think for themselves, something isn’t adding up. How many voters do Democrats count on ignoring China’s role in the virus? how many voters will ‘not wonder’ why so many COVID deaths are tied to hyper blue precincts?

How many voters do Democrats count on being blind to the obvious fact that it was democrat mayors who stood down—and not Trump, while property was being destroyed, utter chaos in the streets and etc.

Seems like Democrats are counting on an awful lot. And you think Biden is a shoe-in for election.

Economic "good news?"

What planet are you living on?

Biden has consistently been up in the polls by double digits. Aren't you counting on a lot if you think Trump can overcome that, again, without Comey's help?

Nope. It is not the media. it is the facts. What has happened is cell phones. we all knew cops abused blacks. now we know how bad and serious it is. Videos are not activists. They are proof.

Did you ask the same question of Obama when he injected himself into the Trayvon situation?

If we're really talking about the citizens in the streets, however, Trump isn't burning down buildings or looting stores.
You bet your sweet bippy I did. Also for Ferguson when he sent Holden to grieve with the convenience store thief's parents. Obama heightened racial tensions by taking sides.

Here's the kicker: there are no "races" genetically. Obama and Kap are both over 50% "white"/Eurocentric ancestry and both were raised in "white" middle-class American homes. So why are they "black"? Unlike being gay, they choose to be. It's purely cultural. It's a choice. Nothing wrong with that except when someone in power uses those powers to take sides. It's as fucked up as a Yankees fan becoming President then taking every opportunity to side with the Yankees against the Dodgers regardless of the facts.

Dutch, here’s where I disagree, because of the color of their skin they are considered Black by society. It is not a choice for them.

I’m counting on voters to be aware and to think.

Or maybe choose between chaos and order. Either should work.

I agree that it's not a choice - but it is something I always found weird. As soon as someone as African American in their heritage, anywhere, they're "black."

I can't fully explain it, but that really bothers me on some level. I find it indicative of how weirdly obsessed we still are with color.

I genuinely hope that someday - probably a long time from now - skin color is viewed the same way as hair color or eye color. Something we kind of notice, but not any kind of differentiator beyond appearance.

It is my hope, too and I have a lot of faith in younger generations.

Absolutely agreed. That's the goal; to see it as ordinary as hair or eye color. So if we look at what we are doing as a society, is that where we are headed or not?

Everyone has a skin and those skins come within a range of pigments from albinism to the darkest brown native of Bougainville, Papua New Guinea. Like eye and hair color, skin tone is a natural variation. When people politicize skin tone, be it pro or con, the society is dividing itself along the lines of skin pigment.

Videos are evidence that some cops are bad -- not that most are. Any abuse by cops should be dealt with, but BLM's premise is that this is a common occurrence. It isn't.

I agree to an extent. Granted, a lot of what defines race is how other people define you. I don't even dispute the idea that black people face certain prejudices because of their appearance, but what I do dispute is the idea that most cops are abusive to minorities.

Agreed about people facing prejudices, but a person would either be a liar or naive to say there's no place in the nation where Americans of all skin tones won't find themselves victimized because of their skin tone, hair, eyes, dress, etc. The problem, of course, is when one skin tone outnumbers the other skin tone 9 to 1. The main problem is economic, specifically opportunities for Americans to improve their lives.

About 800,000 Law Enforcement Officers in the nation. Most are good Americans. What they should learn from this is to "police" their own house instead of having "Blue Flu" whenever one theirs is caught violating the law.
