This may explain why McCain wants to force Obama into public financing

Obama told reporters on Friday that it would be "presumptuous of me to say now that I'm locking myself into something when I don't even know if the other side is going to agree to it."

lol
And NOW willie boy will tell us all after two decades of out raising the Democratic party the Republicans are ALL for public financing. McCain burned through shit piles of money early, was declared dead but no one in his party coould drop one more slug in his cranium to insure the death and now he is back but NO WHERE NEAR as liquid as EITHER dem so now it is time to stick to your guns and go public Obama. And Willie if the shoe was on the other foot you would be telling us all how McCain should use ever means possible to defeat socialism and communism in our time. And don't say you wouldn't cause there is not a person on this board that can say you are not the most partisan hack on the right there is. You and Desh run neck in neck to see which one of you can blame the other side for everything that goes wrong in the world and praise your party for everything that has EVER gone right.

I hope Obama raises so much money that they can run commercials in every timezone and every state 4 to one on McCain.

And if you read the whole article, the bank that has made the loan to McCain has also loaned money to former presidential candidates Walter Mondale and Robert Dole. Hmmmm what do those guys have in common? I KNOW it is something. More than they just ran for president...what was it? Oh that's right! This bank backs losers!

I agree with everything you've said here, however...who told Obama to open his mouth and "challenge" the republicans to agree to only use public financing? That's what I mean about this guy. Now you'll have McCain calling him a liar, and guess what? He's got a leg to stand on there. Not that McCain isnt' the biggest bag of shit flip flopper to come down the pike, but that's not the point.

Did you see Hillary making any such dumbass claim? No you didn't. Too bad she voted against the cluster bomb ban, and for the Lieberman Iran amendment.

I've never been so tempted to sit an election out in my life.

The only good thing to come out of this election so far has been my discovery that the generation just coming of age now, is not racist like the previous generations. That fact, gives me more "hope" than any politician ever could. The rest of this is getting on my nerves. You should see some of the brawls between Hillary and Obama supporters. Meanwhile, other than the fact that she's not stupid enough to tell republicans she'll keep her big fat wallet in her pants...I don't know what there is to get so excited about with either of them.

LOL. Did they give any loans to anybody else?

Hmmmm...

Who are you pulling for, Damo? McCain? Or Obama? Or are you going to cast third party?

I know a lot of libertarians here seem to be going Obama, and almost no one on this site seems to like the new improved warmongering McCain.

I'm thinking of the Libertarian candidate. If they select somebody who isn't insane this time. Otherwise I don't know. There was a time I was a big McCain supporter, mostly because he isn't uber religious and I thought that he could be one of the first steps to end the lock that minority seems to have on the party. However, right now there is many things that make me worry about a McCain Presidency.

There was a time I knew that McCain wouldn't have gotten us into Iraq. Nowadays... :dunno:

I know what you mean. If it were the old McCain, and not the new improved one, I'd actually consider casting my vote for him.

Honestly I think the Republican party is afraid to really cut ties with the Religious Right. They fear that by cutting those ties they will lose the votes to remain a large viable party in congress and to win the Presidency. But honestly, if I could get ONE really good moderate republican who is fiscally conservative and socially moderate to liberal I would never vote for the dems again. Same could be said for the Dems too. Cut loose the looney left and pick up lots of votes. Oh well first team closest to the middle wins IMO.
