The Texas Tribune reported in March that while Jackson, "the former White House physician turned GOP congressman, regularly touts his military bona fides," the Texas lawmaker "is no longer a retired admiral. The Navy demoted him in July 2022 following a damaging Pentagon inspector general’s report that substantiated allegations about his inappropriate behavior as a White House physician, a previously unreported decision confirmed by a current defense official and a former U.S. official who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive personnel move."

Furthermore, according to the Tribune, "Jackson is now a retired Navy captain" — which the the defense official noted is "a demotion that carries significant financial burden in addition to the social stigma of stripped rank in military circles."

Did you miss the part where the unit was being disbanded because the F-102 was being taken out of service? With limited aircraft available, officers and men that wanted to do alternative duty with some other unit were allowed to. Your version is total bullshit based on nonsense purveyed to you by radical Leftists who haven't got a fucking clue about the military.

The flight training he got was for the aircraft the TANG was flying at the time, the F-102. When it was being retired from service, pilots would have had to transition to some other aircraft, but if you were intending to extend you service (Bush had the standard 6-year commission at the time) then the ANG wasn't going to waste time training you for another aircraft. You'd instead be 'flying a desk' somewhere until you finished your service commitment. Bush got out something like 6 months early which was actually pretty common as the military drew down post-Vietnam.

"Early outs" were common in the Nixon-Carter era as a means of money saving.
 
Walz had the level he claimed. When he quit to run for politics, his pay level and title were dropped for retirement purposes.

It’s not true.
