An investigation has concluded that Gov. Sarah Palin abused her power, according to a report just now unanimously released by the legislative council.
The report by investigator Steve Branchflower found that Palin violated the state's executive branch ethics act, which says that "each public officer holds office as a public trust, and any effort to benefit a personal or financial interest through official action is a violation of that trust."

Branchflower was investigating whether Palin abused her power by pushing for the firing of state trooper Mike Wooten, who once was married to the governor's sister.

In the report, they found that she broke state law.

She could actually end up facing impeachment in Alaska. This finding is just the tip of the iceburg.

I consider her, and her creepy husband who is pulling plenty of the strings, to be the most dangerous persons I have seen cross the national stage. This is good news. She needs to be put down.

Branchflower says Monegan's refusal to fire Wooten was not the sole reason for his dismissal, but that it was a "contributing factor." Still, he said, Palin's firing of Monegan was "a proper and lawful exercise" of the governor's authority.

This sounds a little convoluted to me. How can an "abuse of power" also be "a proper and lawful exercise?"

They are saying the physical steps taken to fire him ie. the paperwork etc. was completed correctly but the reason was unethical.

Pretty much. They're basically saying that the governor violated state ethics laws in firing the guy but that the governor is permitted to fire people in violation of state ethics laws. It's fairly convoluted and I think it's a crock of shit, personally.

Pretty plain to most ...

A crock of shit puts it in the right perspective...:gives:

Political ? No shit Sherlock....

Branchflower And Democrat Hollis French Are Former Colleagues. "French will supervise Branchflower. French, also a former prosecutor and colleague of Branchflower, has told the council that the investigator will go to work gathering evidence and could come back to lawmakers if 'some people just won't talk.' The House and Senate Judiciary Committees could then issue subpoenas to compel testimony." (Megan Holland, "Branchflower Will Investigate Monegan Case," Anchorage Daily News, 8/2/08)
