Trucker warns Biden's EPA regulations would be 'catastrophic' for the American food s

And yet you guys want to crush unions, keep wages low, and suppress worker rights.

Wrong. I have no problem with unions other than when membership is forced. If you want to be in a union go for it. But don't tell me I have to join or else I can't work.

Wages should be a matter of productivity, not extortion. I don't, for example, think someone working at Micky D's should be entitled to $20 an hour to ask you if you want fries with your meal as California just did. I expect every fast food restaurant in that state to go 100% to kiosks for ordering your food, and then to automate the kitchen to cut down on excessive wages.

Workers have rights, but so do owners. I, for one, don't need a union to know what my rights are.

This fool gave all of his workers a wage of $70,000.

His best workers felt insulted that they were now being paid the same as his worst workers and they quit. So now he gets shitty workers at a great wage for those workers...

When a workplace has a union, having new workers not join undermines it. If you don't like that a workplace is unionized, then don't work there. Simple.

Not according to the doctrine of capitalism. You're worth whatever an employer is willing to pay you, which is why unions are so important. Employers have always had all the power. Unions are a way of leveling the game.

I don't, for example, think someone working at Micky D's should be entitled to $20 an hour to ask you if you want fries with your meal as California just did.

And I don't think professional athletes should get paid millions to play a game. But, guess what? The cost of labor is going up and employers need to accept it.

I expect every fast food restaurant in that state to go 100% to kiosks for ordering your food, and then to automate the kitchen to cut down on excessive wages.

By this logic, stores that rely on self-checkouts should have lower prices. Yet they don't. Funny.

Workers have rights, but so do owners. I, for one, don't need a union to know what my rights are.

It's not about "knowing what your rights are." It's about having power to protect your rights.

This fool gave all of his workers a wage of $70,000.

Whataboutism.

Why is that that all my union jobs have always been better than my non-union jobs?

Unions usually wind up hurting their membership, not helping it. Forcing union membership is just fascism. You are quite right about price controls on wages. Like any price controls they always cause shortages (such as shortages of jobs).

That's fascism.
Not according to the doctrine of capitalism.
Capitalism is not socialism.
You're worth whatever an employer is willing to pay you,
Correct.
which is why unions are so important.
Unions are no factor here.
Employers have always had all the power.
Nope. YOU have the power to leave if you are not paid enough. YOU have the power to start your own business if you want to and pay whatever you want for your employees.
Unions are a way of leveling the game.
Nope. They kill the game.
And I don't think professional athletes should get paid millions to play a game.
Now you are locked in paradox. YouJUST SAID you are worth whatever an employee is willing to pay you! Which is it, dude???
But, guess what? The cost of labor is going up and employers need to accept it.
The cost of everything is going up. That's called inflation.
By this logic, stores that rely on self-checkouts should have lower prices. Yet they don't. Funny.
...and they do.
It's not about "knowing what your rights are." It's about having power to protect your rights.
You rights do NOT include dictating what someone else is paid, and they do NOT include dictating to any employer what he is going to pay you.
Sorry, dude. You have to negotiate that!
Whataboutism.

Why is that that all my union jobs have always been better than my non-union jobs?
...at least until the union kills the company to the point they can't hire you anymore because you cost too much.

Not always. In WW 2 FDR slapped wage and price controls on stuff. Companies got around the wage controls by offering non-wage benefits in lieu of higher pay like "free" health care / insurance, company cafeterias with free meals (helped people with the rationing of food going on), etc. When the war ended, some of these non-wage benefits continued like health care / insurance and we can see the result of that today in outrageous healthcare costs out of line with the market.

Price controls create black markets.

There were a lot of shortages too, including losses of jobs where wage controls were a factor.

Shortages in health care.

All socialism creates black markets.

You need to eat less and less well to save the planet they say.

Actually WOKE is Anti-Human, this is about sadism, your misery is a feature not a bug.
