A better gesture, a non-political gesture, would have been to have an event at the WH or nearby to which *all* the teams and individual Olympians were invited to be feasted and applauded, with no distinction between male and female or individual or team. Could still happen, I suppose, unless the Gropingfuehrer is too busy instigating another war and whining about how mean everyone is to him.

Maybe they could invite Bad Bunny for the entertainment. :laugh:

I think you're confusing national celebration with political exploitation. A President's State of the Union address, especially this president's,
is as narrowly political as it gets.

While Jack Hughes quickly became an American hero with his gold-medal-winning goal, Megan Keller did the same thing in overtime three days before his to defeat Canada in their matchup.

During the viral clip of Trump’s phone call to the men’s team, he said that he would "have" to invite the women’s team to the State of the Union, too, otherwise, "I probably would be impeached."
