You know what, if your 12 year old is kidnapped by someone, you are supposed to encourage her to fight and run like hell. The survival rate for those who just go along is very low. In this world, you sometimes have to fight a fight you will probably lose, because just losing uncontested is worse.

Stone does not get this, because he has never worked for anything in his life.

Iran had billions of dollars unfrozen by Reagan as a reward for first keeping the hostages, and then releasing them after the inauguration.

Reagan was the first to release some of the money to Iran. Bush junior released some more. Obama released even more. There are still some Iranian assets being held by the US Government not released, yet.

Iran-Iraq War had between 1 and 2 million dead. Korean War had over two million dead. Russian invasion of Ukraine, maybe 100,000 to 200,000... So not even a tenth as big.

Hawkeye says that the Russians are kicking our asses, so lets look at the number of American forces lost in the war: zero. There might be one or two dual citizens serving in the Ukrainian Army that have died, but no American troops. America looses more troops in Texas than in Ukraine.

American generals have been fighting two major wars for the last 25 years, with dozens of minor wars on the side. American generals have more training in wars due to simulators than ever before. And now we are learning how WWIII in Northern Germany would have gone. Russia was a lot weaker than anyone thought.
