There are lots of EV startups. There are lots of manufacturers now. Tesla is just one maker run by a nutcase. They will be available. Tesla is a high priced EV appealing to wealthy people's vanity.
They are not driving Tesla out of business. His politics and cruelty to American workers are.

No, the Left with their usual childish, petulant, emotional, irrational bluster and hate are trying to drive Tesla out of business. The Left's politics and cruelty to Americans, and not just workers, is why Trump is in office and Musk enjoys widespread support for his DOGE activities.

The product of the American "educational system" is one productive Chinese worker's worth per $500,000 of tuition and tax money.
You could double education spending and what you would get is one productive Chinese worker's worth per $1,000,000.
Through the extremely predictable and well precedented magic of waste, fraud, and abuse input investment can and HAS been decoupled from value attained.
Our schools are wretched places with wretched student cultures and useless professorial cultures. Anyone who makes it to being a useful member of society through the whole process does so by unusual wisdom and perseverance to a dream career.
Meanwhile in China academic success is respected by students, teachers, and society. This culture and the lack of enormous waste, fraud, and abuse allow them to have more productive people because when their young men and women find a calling they actually have the foundation to become subject matter experts. That's how it used to be in Europe and USA.
As with so many other matters, the combination of socialist mindset with individualism has produced the worst of both worlds in the USA.
Here everyone has a right to education, housing, health, but nobody has a right to an audit. Students are compelled to appear but all attempts to control student culture or distinguish excellence from failure are called repressive and backward.
You can't have it both ways. It doesn't work, as we can see.
