The downside of a two-party, winner-take-all system of election. When both parties have a deplorable as their nominee, what are Americans supposed to do?

I have no doubt many Americans were as disgusted as I was with the nominees in 2016 but voted for the "D" or the "R" anyway. I voted Third Party then and will do so again next November (unless it's Pence on the ticket).

Trump is bad enough but the Democrats almost as bad in 2020 and definitely worse in 2016. When Hillary and Joe Biden are the best the Democrats have to offer, it proves they are in the same pigsty as the Trump cult. I wish more Americans would vote Third Party just to prove their disgust.

Your posts on this are stunning. Donald Trump is President during the worst crisis in a generation. And his strategy has been to ignore it. At his public rallies, his only real mention of it is some sort of twisted comedy routine where he talks about "all of the names," with the big punchline being "Kung Flu."

We're in a pandemic. Trump should be out there every day, setting a good example by wearing a mask and by encouraging the wearing of masks - instead of what he did yesterday, and has been doing: talking about them with doubt and creating a "debate" about them. He should be urging everyone to distance and wash hands.

And he should lead a moon shot effort on testing & tracing - instead of telling crowds that he told his people to "slow the testing down, please!," and that if we didn't test, we wouldn't have so many cases.

Trump's leadership has been PATHETIC. And it is why he is going to lose, and lose by a lot.

So you want me a layman to map out how the initial stages of the virus should have been handled. Trump had the assets yet he chose to follow his gut feelings as attested to by the quotes you ignore. You really are vision impaired. If you can't see that Trump dropped the ball from the beginning there is no reason for futher conversation.
