To be fair, he did not suggest that Islam as a whole was radical. He simply stated that a radical religious movement threatened to destroy us. Which is true. A radical sect of Islam has done just that. It is a small minority of Islam as a whole, but it does exist. As do radicals within Christianity and Judaism.
