It is a form of tyranny by the minority.
Previously, most forms of oppression came from the state. The state would censure dissidents and people it didn't like, or had opposing views.
Instead the oppression and tyranny is coming from small groups of individuals, special interests, and the media. Together they work to silence their opposition with the use of PC. Cut them down as racist, homophobic, etc, and stigmatize them so no one wants to be part of "them".
Its all part of the lefts plan to create their perfect utopian. Only it will resemble a 1984 style dystopia instead.
