Intelligence is a property of the universe. It did not come from anywhere.

As time has gone by we've discovered that other beings besides ourselves are both intelligent and possess sense of self/self-awareness. Our parrots definitely possess both these traits.

Intelligence is an evolutionary trait that increases the likelihood of a species surviving long enough to pass along their genes.
 
No one knows what you are talking about. What the hell are "stoned apes?!"
Do a search on stoned ape theory and high protein diet theory for human brain development. The human brain grew at an exception speed so the question is why. I'm here for another interesting conversation.
