Isn't there potential every judge appointed by one party could be biased against a member of the other party? How would we ever have a legal system?

Well, Trump is on his own with the bias charge. I won't defend that one. But this notion that his comment was racist is horse hockey.

The meme cuts both ways, IMO. Hispanics are a pretty diverse bloc so to claim 'Hispanics hate Trump' is kind of simplistic.

The issue here is Trump is the one who sends out the meme. He's the one saying Hispanics love him and then he pulls this. He's defeating his own argument.

Trump cited the only reasons he thinks the Judge should be biased is that "he is a Mexican and I'm building a wall".
Trump will never build any wall and Curiel is not a Mexican. Trumps lawyers have never filed a motion for Curiel to recuse for any reason. It is all smoke and mirrors. Trump is only trying to slant public opinion against the Judge so that when he loses Trump has an excuse.
Trump lies and you defend him.

I have yet to hear anyone where I, refer to themselves as Mexican - American.
Mexican's are those who live or have immigrated from Mexico and even Hispanics refer to illegal immigrants as wetbacks.

Racism is pretty close to prejudicial ethnic bigotry, and it is easier to say.
It makes a more readable headline without being altogether inaccurate.

Again, no argument from me on Trump's stupidity. My point is that his comments were not an indication of racism or ethnic animus or whatever the bullshit PC term of the day is.

What's maddening is only Trump can keep Trump from beating Hillary and he's liable to do it.

When have I ever said I hated the judge? Hell, I just told cowako Trump is on his own with the bias charge. My only contention on that aspect is that it's not outlandish to suspect a Hispanic judge to be prejudiced against Trump. Whether the judge is or he isn't---I have absolutely no idea.

Trump was an idiot for making the comments he made. And I'll tell you exactly why: the media, people like you and not least of all Hillary, we're going to pounce on it and shriek 'racism'. Whether the charge has any merit, is totally immaterial.

The only thing that matters is when the dust settles, people who didn't really pay attention are going to be left with the impression that Trump is bigoted towards Hispanics. Because the Hispanic vote is critical to Trumps campaign.

It's so bloody transparent it's not even fun diagnosing it. It's not like you have to be particularly cleaver to see what's going on.

'Racism', surely, must include an obsession with this purely imaginary category? The Neanderthals died out long since, and we've been one race thereafter. Because of slavery, Americans seem still to be entirely so obsessed, and I can't see anything sensible coming out of such discussions until they join the modern world.
