Why do people think Obama is a socialist liberal

I, myself, was mass murdered twice in 1997, again in 1999 and three times in 2001. And so was my wife.

Luckily, since the advent of a Conservative led coalition government i have only been mass murdered once, by accident.

Because demonizing the other guy is the weapon the Republican party best knows how to wield.

It's been their primary strategy for a couple decades now and they show no signs of changing tactics anytime soon.

If you are referring to Pres. Obama's actions -

1) health care -rather than turning it over to the govt - medicare for all - he actively supported private health insurance companies. Obamacare totally involves private companies, not the govt.

2) banks - not a single bank was taken over or broken up (although many of us thought that both should have happened)

3) automotive industry - again, not a single car company was taken over; govt invested in them and those investments are being paid back.

If you are talking about someone like me - YES, I want health care to be single payer; YES, I think the big banks should be broken up (though not necessarily taken over) and RELUCTANTLY I agreed it was better to keep the car companies afloat - due to jobs and the impact on the recession - rather than let them go bankrupt.

health care - he tried but was unsuccessful....
banking - gave them taxpayer money and rewrote the rules defining what they could do....
auto - GM was taken over, and if we hadn't given it free to the unions we would still control it.....
