Elon Musk is a multi-billionaire but has he peaked with X formerly Twitter? The latest stink is his embracing antisemitic conspiracy theories. Embracing conspiracy theories isn't new for Musk, but many, including advertisers, think he crossed the line by pushing antisemitic memes.

Even though Musk apologized for his support of antisemitism, his actions speak louder than words. A true apology includes both remorse and repentance. He's shown neither and, as the link below points out, has gone the other way in blaming others for his own actions.

Elon Musk curses out advertisers who left X over antisemitic content
Billionaire Elon Musk told advertisers that have fled his social media platform X over antisemitic content to "Go fuck yourself" in a fiery Wednesday interview.

His profanity-laced remarks followed a moment of contrition in a New York Times DealBook Summit interview. Musk said repeatedly he was sorry for publishing a tweet on Nov. 15 that agreed with an anti-Jewish post.

Musk has faced a torrent of criticism ever since he agreed with a user who falsely claimed Jewish people were stoking hatred against white people. Musk in his post said the user, who referenced the "Great Replacement" conspiracy theory, was speaking "the actual truth."

On Wednesday Musk said he had "handed a loaded gun" to both detractors and antisemitic people, describing his post as possibly the worst he had made during a history of messages that included many "foolish" ones....

..."If somebody's gonna try to blackmail me with advertising, blackmail me with money? Go fuck yourself," he said.

"Go. Fuck. Yourself. Is that clear? I hope it is. Hey, Bob, if you're in the audience," he added, in an apparent reference to Robert Iger, chief executive of Walt Disney (DIS.N), which pulled ads on X. Iger spoke earlier at the event and said that Disney felt the association with X following Musk's move "was not a positive one for us". A spokesperson from Disney did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

"What I care about is the reality of goodness, not the perception of it. And what I see all over the place is people who care about looking good while doing evil. Fuck them," Musk said.

Musk's expletives against advertisers is the "closing chapter" for brands doing business with X, said Lou Paskalis, founder of marketing consultancy AJL Advisory and the former head of global media at Bank of America. "They're not going to forget that," he said....

...Following the post, major U.S. companies including Walt Disney (DIS.N), Warner Bros Discovery (WBD.O) and NBCUniversal parent Comcast (CMCSA.O) suspended their ads on X. A report from liberal watchdog group Media Matters precipitated the advertiser exit, which said it found ads next to posts that supported Nazism. The platform filed a lawsuit last week against Media Matters for defamation.

Musk himself appeared resolved that X could fail financially and blamed advertisers.

"If the company fails because of advertiser boycott, it will fail because of an advertiser boycott. And that will be what bankrupt the company and that's what everybody on earth will know," he said. "Let the chips fall where they may."

Netanyahu is so desperate, that he welcomed Musk with open arms.

This could only mean that Musk is ready to get involved in the war somehow.

More satellite phones? No! Something bigger than that!

Doubtful. Musk is pro-Russian and antisemitic. If his views start negatively impacting his other businesses, he may shed crocodile tears and false laments but it's because he's concerned about his wallet, not his heart, mind or soul.

One Year After Elon Musk Bought Twitter, X Monthly Users Are Down 15% and Ad Revenue Has Slumped 54%
Remember Twitter?

That was Elon Musk‘s favorite social-networking service. He was such a fan that he made a $44 billion bid for the company, then tried to renege on the deal when tech stocks swooned in 2022 before he was forced to consummate the pact after Twitter sued him.

The tech mogul closed the debt-burdened Twitter deal on Oct. 27, 2022, and promptly terminated the senior executive team. In the one year since then, Musk among other things has overseen an 80% reduction in headcount; renamed the company “X”; partially dismantled Twitter’s blue check-mark system and now grants “verified” status to $8-per-month X Premium subscribers (whose posts receive algorithmic preference); and launched a test to charge users $1 per year to post to the platform (which he says is necessary to combat bots).

So how’s it going at X today? Not great, according to several indicators.

Millions of users, including several celebrities, have quit in the wake of Musk’s takeover and dramatic refashioning of Twitter. In September 2023, monthly active users for X/Twitter had dropped 15% worldwide (and 18% in the U.S.) year-over-year, according to web analytics provider SimilarWeb. Other third-party measures indicate a roughly similar decline; mobile daily active users dropped 16% on an annual basis in September 2023, to 183 million, according to Sensor Tower. Musk last month claimed that X has 550 million monthly active users, who share up to 200 million posts daily, but it’s unclear how that might compare to past measures. (As a public company, Twitter reported a metric it dubbed “monetizable daily active users”; Musk has repeatedly disparaged Twitter’s former methodology for reporting users and estimating spam/bot accounts.)

Advertising has shrunk even further. U.S. ad spending on X/Twitter by major ad agencies from September 2022-August 2023 dropped 54%, according to ad-analytics firm Guideline (via WSJ). Despite Musk’s promise to marketers that he would not turn Twitter into a “free-for-all hellscape,” advertisers have been wary of Musk’s mercurial decisions, including his move to reinstate thousands of formerly banned accounts (including Donald Trump’s), not to mention his own bizarre posts that at times have traded in conspiracy theories....

Elon's main problem is not that he is a right leaning extreme derp and is that he is an obvious hypocrite. He came into Twitter pretending he was a "free speech absolutist' and has been the opposite, being more of a speech ban person than Twitter ever was prior.

Few people, on any side of the spectrum like hypocrites and if he was just honest and awful, he would likely do better.

Twitter will shut down within the year. You can bet on that one.

I think Musk had a pretty clear message to any advertisers who feel they can blackmail him into abandoning his policies......

The optimists who think that at this late date America can still be saved should be watching this.

it will not happen.

Current Sig:

Those who are just now waking up to reality after living their entire lives in ignorance and fantasy cant comprehend that it is already far too late to avoid the catastrophe of the collapse of America.

That idea timed out 20-40 years ago......The collapse is now.

ask Musk, it's pretty much a quote of what he said about them.....
Only a fucking moron thinks a business decision is blackmail. `

This is another case of the Alt-Right acting like the Far Left. The Far Left made the Christian Bakers cater to everyone regardless of how much it was against their morality. Now the Alt-Right wants to force people to pay money to Musk through Twitter no matter how big of a fucking Jew-hating Nazi Musk has become.

We are living under the thumb of a neo Marxist revolution, there is no such thing as a business decision that is not at root political.

That doesn't make sense to me. Are you saying all American businesses are neo-Marxist?

Refusing to advertise on Twitter is NOT blackmail. It's the free market. If you refuse to donate to the KKK, it's not blackmail. Funny how magas twist things when things don't go their way.

ask Musk, it's pretty much a quote of what he said about them....

Except that Musk is full of shit because refusing to advertise is not blackmail, it's choice. If you refuse to donate to the society to have sex with animals are you blackmailing people that engage in beastiality? Check your facts, dude.

Only a fucking moron thinks a business decision is blackmail. `

call it what you want, it was advertisers trying to use their buying power to shape social media.....and social media standing up and saying "you can't change me"......I for one, find that refreshing.......

oh the horrible, horrible man.....
In November, Musk suspended several accounts for impersonating him, including those run by comedian Kathy Griffins and former NFL player Chris Kluwe. He also restricted a few accounts for spreading hate speech and politically polarizing content, including one owned by rapper Ye (formerly known as Kanye West).

Musk’s latest suspension spree started on Dec. 14 when he deactivated @elonjet, an account tracking his private jet in real time using public data. The account was run by Jack Sweeney, a 20-year-old Florida college student. Twitter also banned Sweeney’s personal account and his other two accounts tracking the private jets of Donald Trump and Mark Zuckerberg.

impersonators and doxxers........you should try using the brain God gave you....

who has he banned?.....

Elon's bans are the most anti free speech of all types. He target media outlets who write stories he finds unflattering of himself or those he supports in an attempt to chill the Press Coverage of those he thinks should be protected.

Elon Musk’s Twitter Is Still Banning Journalists for Simply Doing Their Job

...under its new ownership by Elon Musk, a “free speech absolutist” who’s vowed to turn Twitter into a “digital town square,” the rules have only gotten hazier, with journalists and news outlets seemingly punished completely willy-nilly...

...the suspension runs counter to Twitter’s own rule on reporters covering hacked or leaked materials: The platform defers to outlets’ “editorial judgment in publishing these materials,” while the site’s responsibility is to “provide additional context that is useful in providing clarity to the conversation that happens on Twitter.” ...

...Musk’s fluid moderation policies have favored the high-profile conservatives he frequently communicates with on Twitter. The same is true for the site’s more concrete policy changes, such as its apparent decision earlier this week to end a ban on misgendering and deadnaming trans users. Needless to say, the site’s rightward shift has boosted its reputation among conservatives:...

(inb4 you showing you do not care because he is banning the right people.)

I think Musk has sent a pretty clear message for any customers, he just does not want you. Ex-Twitter is going to fail miserably.
