This meaningless green drivel: Scientist's U-turn on doomsday claims

That's not the point. My point is that this is not yet a mature technology and it is quite possible, as you opine, that it never will mature because it is not cost affective. Time will tell.

It is very much the point if it prove to be the white elephant that I believe it to be.

Thanks, I understood only half of what you said, but I will educate myself.
err in plain English Deep Well injection is a very deep well drilled into the earth (like a mile down), HLW = High Level Radioactive Waste.". Vitrification = turning metal oxides into a glass (including radioactive ones). The advantage of vitrification of HLW is that it treats the toxic properties of HLW and it stabilizes the radiactive properties so that the material can't disperse. It then becomes just a matter of burrying it so far beneath the earth that the radioactive material cannot migrate to where it would be a hazard to human health or the environment (which as I said, isn't easy).

Tom, are 2 foot increases per century acceptable?

Tom?

Does a 2 foot/year seal level rise indicate we have a problem?
How many square miles of land will we lose per Century?
Which european country will disapear entirely in the next century? Which magor city will be gone in half that time?

Tom, why are fact irrelevant to you?
