Health care, bank stocks lead stock market lower

Rationalist

Hail Voltaire
NEW YORK (AP) — Health care stocks tumbled Thursday after the Supreme Court upheld most of President Barack Obama's health care overhaul, falling along with major banks as Wall Street worried about the European debt crisis and the sluggish U.S. economy.

Truly, everything this President does causes harm to the economy and kills jobs. What a complete embarrassment. Thankfully, we will not have to live under this charlatan for much longer. :)

So the health care industry wrote the bill but their stocks all fell when the bill they desperately want is upheld?

Hmmm...I'm just a simple country girl and don't know nothing bout stocks and I guess that's why that sounds a little off to me?

stocks were already down before the announcement

Really, are you sure? I saw on Michelle Malkin's blog that they are terrified in the White House. Word has it several very highly placed officials crapped their pants already. There is a rumor that Obama himself is walking around with a pantload. This is the worst thing that could have happened to him. He's in tears.

Medical care facilities numbers are up... insurance companies down... biotech and medical device down.

Not to me. Investors don't like it because they don't buy into the CBO #'s, and think it will bankrupt the country. But health care execs don't care, because they'll make more profits anyway.

It's pretty simple, actually.

Something's simple, that's for sure.

Well, we are talking about people having health care or not having health care. So even if what you say were true, I really wouldn't care. Investors aren't running this country.

And as far as not buying the CBO numbers there's a reason I haven't commented on that. I buy them.
