good news.

this interests me because if not for modern media, this story would be known to less than 200 people. the same thing, arguably, happened with the zimmerman case. is this a good thing for society or a bad thing? it seems very little can be hidden anymore. then again, masters of manipulation can wield modern media to manipulate millions instantly and effortlessly.

proof onceler is a coward when it comes to actual debate:

thanks for proving my point about your whiny hypocrisy. continual discussion about why CU is bad is not whining, but if a conservative discusses why NFIB is bad, then that is whining. you can't have it both ways.

btw, why don't try some actual debate tonight instead of your usual boring sniping. you claim i never say anything smart etc....show what i said here is not smart

why is it I don't believe sitting out a year of school is going to improve these kid's lives.....

good point. then again....maybe their parents will take a more active role in their lives? imo....the suspension term was sensational, due to the wide media coverage of this story. might has well been expelled.

more proof onceler can't debate and more proof onceler can't prove his points

poor onceler....stuck on the sidelines throwing peanuts

I had some great debates on the site this week. Some posters here have some real intelligence.

You ain't one of 'em. Your schtick is unbelievably predictable at this point.

then surely you can point out the where i'm not intelligent in the OP.

fact is....you haven't and never will. because you can't . you're a bench warmer, a side liner throwing peanuts. you don't have game onceler. you have to talk about alleged other game you have, but you can't actually show it when called on.

sit back down and keep the bench warm.

"Point out where I'm not intelligent" - Yurtsie, you're a hoot.

Insecure much?

Children, please if we can actually get back to the topic before Yurt and Oncelor have to leave the room...

Personally I think the media's attention is almost never a good thing in cases, it blows the story out of proportion, it gets fanatics on both sides involved and the original case gets lost in the rat race. Happened with Zimmerman, OJ, this, and will continue to happen, modern media is more interested in making news and milking it than on reporting.

do you think that most people that follow stories in the media are easily manipulated?

i think that the punishment may be a bit much, perhaps a suspension of a week or two might have been better, however, sending the kids to a different school for a year is definitively a punishment to both the kids and the parents, which is a good thing

One has to wonder how many bus mums (that's what we call them) are subject to similar treatment without the assailants being caught on camera.

I think this is great. Part of a good education in social studies is the idea of citizenship. As students do socially inappropriate things of this magnitude and become internet pariahs, they get a hard lesson in civics and community participation.

yes, most people who follow stories in the media are easily manipulated. do you believe otherwise?

the punishment, imo, was brought on due the national attention of the matter. it is a bit harsh and would never have happened but for modern media.
