According to the story they were called often for this same person doing the same thing... Why do you think they never did anything about it?

Even if the killer is charged, which is not certain, how will that benefit the dead man?

The same logical fallacy as before and for the same reason. One can ask this same question about anybody who has been killed anywhere. It is simply worthless nonsense.

I am saying that when caught stealing, someone might respond violently to being detained...so violently that one's life is threatened. If that is the case then this young man was definitely justified in shooting the assailant. If someone tries to steal property from me that I have labored hard to pay for and I have it within my power, I am going to stop them. Most of the time the only way to stop thievery is to catch the thief in the act. Cops can't do that all the time.

Who said they never did anything about it? If you mean they never killed the man like the clerk did, then I guess you might have a point.

Or, maybe it was a lack of evidence? Good thing the clerk decided none was needed to execute the suspect, isn't it?

It's in the OP. It's Texas law, according to the OP. Which means it's OK.

Under Texas law, you can use deadly force to protect yourself or your property if a crime is being committed and you’re in "fresh pursuit."

Why did they let him back in?

This clerk isn't even the owner. He has zero financial interest in killing the guy, and it likely is not store policy to do so, as no company wants to put their workers lives on the line for something so trivial. If I were the owner, I would fire the shithead, for violating safety policy and embarrassing the company. In fact, he was just a sadistic animal who was thrilled at the oppurtunity that Texas law gave him to snuff out human life. Such an animal cannot be considered a worthy participant in any decent society. He is unworthy of prison, he should be stripped of citizenship and deported.

Unless we're talking about the government violating property rights, then no, not in my personal opinion. I wouldn't kill someone for stealing my car, for example. Instead, I would allow it to go through the proper legal channels with the hope that the individual will turn their life around and become a productive member of society. That describes my father to a T. He wasn't a violent criminal, but he did steal, spent a night in jail, and learned from the experience. He went on to become a successful, law-abiding person.

We only have one life to live, and everyone makes mistakes, myself included. Unless someone intends to cause physical harm, I have no reason to kill them.
