Why would doctors need to know if you have a gun?

and again, what do these irrelevent questions have to do with the practice of medicine? This isn't the law Yurt.

are you kidding me? so "rights" do not derive from law? they simply magically appear from your mind? rights are whatever we say they are?

you claimed the rights stemmed from the first amendment. now you're running away from that claim faster than jesse owens.

my good lord. i have been to dozens of doctors and never once been asked about my religion. you are full of shit.

Really? I'll bet somewhere within your medical records is the answer to "What's your religion?".

Think about that and why the question's important.

Really? Can you tell me one case of a person not of Jewish descent who has Tay Sachs disease? I also never said anything about a physician denying treatment, that's just simply you again puting words into peoples mouths as you are notorious for.

You simply don't know what you're talking about so you're just throwing out strawmen. It's as simple as this, a physician will ask any question they feel is relevent to helping them diagnose a disease in a patient. If you don't understand the concept and importance of building a case history then you know jack shit about the practice of medicine.

Using your logic, or what passes for it; if someone is diagnosed with Tay Sachs disease, then there's no reason to ask if the person is of Jewish descent, because like you said "Can you tell me one case of a person not of Jewish descent who has Tay Sachs disease?". :palm:

again....tell me where that "right" derives from mott.

In some jurisdictions not only can a doctor ask if you own a vehicle but they can ask if you have a driver's licence and if you have one of numerous medical conditions they are compelled to contact the Motor Vehicle authorities and have them confiscate your license. Would you want someone driving who has a history of seizures? Of passing out due to heart problems?

To you maybe but you don't know crap about practicing medicine.

Nor do you. Tell me the genetic disease connected with owning a gun and you may have a point otherwise the idea that they should ask about that and not what type of car you own is stupid...

How about riding motorcycles?

There are about a zillion things with a higher likelihood of injury that they don't ask about, yet you believe that they should ask about this one.

apples/oranges

nope...never been asked

Have you ever been in the service?

Whether you have or not, your physician is required to know your religion so at time of death, procedures can be followed accordingly.

Another question...

If a physician doesn't know your religion, how can he deny care to you because of your religion?

being in the service is far different howey. your attempt at comparison falls flat.

as to your last question, it doesn't even make sense.

what part of the world do you live in where people are so incapable of taking care of themselves that they require/demand that government do everything for them?

Do tell us how one can take care of themselves when a driver coming from the opposite direction at 60 miles an hour has a seizure.

What part of the country do you live in where the DOT doesn't require every commercial driver to have a yearly physical?

Not really. Would you like to be hunting with a guy holding a shotgun when he has a seizure? Or at home getting ready to remove the bullets from his gun before cleaning it and suddenly has a seizure?

No one I hunt with puts their finger on the trigger until they are ready to shoot. Likewise, only a complete idiot unloads his gun with his finger on the trigger. So this argument is nonsense. Come up with another reason a Dr needs to know whether or not I own guns.

Maybe no one you hunt with, but there are lots of idiots out there hunting.
