Condi Rice for VP?

Like all things when the gobblement gets involved, our public education system is a shambles and two tiered. Those who can afford it get their kids into good schools. Like the OWEdummies, who eschew public education for a high priced private school and blond supprters like you look the other way at the hypocrisy.

Yes, I can see why you would oppose vouchers for inner city blacks in DC. I mean it was bad enough their mothers didn't abort them like your hero Margaret Sanger wanted. Why give them a chance at a quality education? They might do something crazy and become self sufficient, not need the gobblement and stop voting democrat. And we can't have that now can we? You libs gots ta keeps dem on da plantation anyway you can

You should take your Romper Room child-speak and talk to someone else.

Geez ..

1880-1965

how about 2008-2012?.....do you agree with the people on this board who have argued that blocking felons from voting is a racial issue?......do you agree with the people on this board who have argued that 25% of blacks will be disenfranchised if they have to pay $25 for a photo ID?....do you agree with the people who have argued that sending letters to registered voters to determine if any of them are deceased or have moved is targeting black voters?.........

so you deny they were very popular with blacks in the District of Columbia?.....quality education in inner city schools IS a racial issue.....

People in DC and all over the country are desperate for quality education for their children .. an indictment itself on America.

In their desperation, many have sought the supposed benefit of vouchers that would send their children to more quality schools .. but its an illusion held by desperate people.

Are you aware of the problems with the DC voucher program and its delivery to students? Probably not.

There are a myriad of sources that detail the problems with the voucher program .. but here is one from your own side of the political fence ..

False Choice
How private school vouchers might harm minority students.

It's my turn to ask questions

Tell me why African-Americans should even consider voting for republicans? That is the crux of this argument, is it not?

Why in the hell would I vote for a political party with such a miserable record concerning African-American people?

For those who are actually interested in the history of black voter disenfranchisement in America ..

Additionally .. there is no voter fraud in the US. Often, most American voters who are eligible don't go to the polls. Yet, it is republicans who are behind the voter-id laws that are designed to reduce the number of voters going to the polls .. specifically the black vote which republicans know are going to democrats by wide margins.

Interesting to note, the 1965 Voting Rights Act could never have passed Congress without strong Republican support. Reason: The Democrat party was fractured between those who favored Civil Rights, and those who favored Segregation. Now BAC and others will tell us of this miraculous event that took place, which there is no evidence to support in reality, of how the racist Segregationists all took over the Republican party. We know this didn't happen, because there is no evidence to support it, the evidence shows people like George Wallace and Lester Maddox, remaining life-long democrats through another mysterious freak occurrence which supposedly took place, called "redemption." This is where former racists and klan members had a 'come to Jesus' moment and renounced their past and were forgiven.

Republicans and Democrats should stand united to support fair elections and standards to ensure them. Voter ID is a part of those standards, and the INSANITY that we can have a system of voting without verifying a person's identity, is something NO rational American should support. It has nothing to do with 'disenfranchising' anyone, except people who have no business casting a ballot, because they can not prove who they are. What I think the problem is; You know the democrats pick up a chunk of votes from people who vote two or three times, or shouldn't be voting because they are too young, or here illegally, and you don't want to lose those cheating votes you've been getting away with.

Cite the proven cases of massive voter fraud.

Additionally, the question is why would African-Americans vote for republicans.

I haven't eard a single one of you make that case .. specifically because there is no case to be made in this regard.

It's my turn to ask questions

actually, I thought it was your turn to answer one.....which you didn't......if you don't like vouchers how about this.....they should vote for the Republicans because their goal is to support the creation of jobs rather than the creation of more dependence on the government among ALL races.....

:rofl2: Yeah, that's abundantly clear....

:0)

A. Republicans don't create jobs

B. Republicans don't represent all races.

C. I not only answered your question about vouchers .. I gave you a link to make yourself smarter about it with information that you obviously didn't know.

Not a single one of you has the slightest coherent answer of why blacks should vote for your all-white party.

Not one of you. :0)

Nope!

While I would agree that our overall health care is better... Cuba's is not a third world shithole. It actually is a very good system. I would agree with Tom... we could all be far better off if we ended the dumbass embargo and worked with Cuba rather than hindered them with our embargo (which does absolutely nothing for us)

The US could get quality pharmaceuticals at far less cost if they were able to invest in Cuban companies. They are becoming world leaders in biotechnology and with more inward investment could be even better.

The US has higher pharma prices in large part because it is the US that subsidizes the R&D projects that don't work. That said, the biotech arena in Cuba is a perfect example of why we need to end the embargo. What our scientists and theirs could accomplish together would be a great benefit to society as a whole. Instead we continue to throw the ball and chain around the Cuban biotech progress simply because of politicians disdain for Castro. One man. They don't like one man and they punish the world for it. The f'in stupidity of politicians. Yet one more reason we need an open season on politicians... clean house... start fresh.

edit: side note: everyone should read that article from wired... great piece... thanks for sharing it Tom
