If legalized, authors say pot would be practically free

folks all this conspiracy theory stuff is pushing to hard on simple facts.

Obama wants to wait to decriminalize pot.

He does not want to be the first black president and have it said "oh yea the black man gets in office and poof he makes weed legal".

He is prosicuting it because its a schedule one drug.

Have NO worries about pot not getting legalized folks.

There are so many products that will be available that growers and sellers will NOT have to worry about you being able to grow a couple of plants yourself in your yard.

How many people who smoke grow their own tobaco?

convinience is what people sell when the product they sell is inexpensive to produce.

Elect Obama and I bet by the end of his second term weed is pulled from the scheduale 1 status.

The people are ready for it to be legal.

I think it will keep alot of people from becoming alcoholics.

the world will be happier and safer.

But wait .. didn't you say "oh yea the black man gets in office and poof he makes weed legal" .. but now you're saying elect Obama and he'll do the right thing even though the same people you talked about before will say the same thing you worried about .. and something he did not worry about when he campaigned on sane pot laws.

Why should anyone trust him now?

Obama is going to do whatever his corporate masters tell him to do.

dude it will be second term which wont make it poof.

I need for you guys to prove all this renting of pot feilds to big pharma and the like.

actually letting big pharma pay for the testing that the gov can produce to prove MJ is relatively harmless is not such a dumb move dont you think?

FDo you have something solid on that issue?

BTW do you think super mormon man will legalize?

So "poof" makes the difference?

That makes no sense on all kinds of levels, and you have no proof that he's going to do anything other than what he has been doing.

Has he said or demonstrated that he's going to do anything differently? When?

Information on the pot fields has already been posted .. but a simple google search will discover much more.

"Just last week, the Drug Enforcement Administration said 55 unnamed companies have been granted licenses to grow cannabis in the United States. Observers say the pharmaceutical companies need the pot farms to cultivate weed so they can produce a generic version of the THC pill Marinol, which is currently marketed by Watson Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NYSE: WPI ), and at least one other cannabis-based pill for a wide variety of new uses."

"follow the money"

the drug companies do all the resseach to prove its efficacy and minor dnagers.

Then he can pull it off of schedule one with a mountain of new data.

get it

Where this will spurn a whole new market is in the ways it will be delivered to the "patient".

Then a few years on the pharmacutials list and you can prove its harmless enough to be over the counter.

Poof MJ is legal

Potheads have a reason to rejoice: Should their favorite herb become legal, there’s a very good chance it will also be dirt-cheap. The authors of a new book called "Marijuana Legalization: What Everyone Needs To Know" claim that because America’s farming techniques are some of the most productive in the world, prices could be less than $20 per pound for high-grade weed and less than $5 a pound for mid-grade stuff. They claim that joints would be so inexpensive, businesses could give them away as freely as they do ketchup packages or bar nuts. Bar joint, anyone? [Source]

It would be a good idea to impose a 100% tax, solve the deficite problem, the money raised on the tax plus the money saved on enforcement would likely pay for the Bush war!

It will be a great little market and it will be worldwide.

it will help some poor countries along with helping us big guys.

Imagine a world where pot is discusted like wine and everyone syas this or that country produces the Best pot.

on man I cant wait

Uhm, that's rope hemp, aka ditch weed and it's still growing along the fence rows in Iowa. It's the same family of cannibas but it's not the sativa strain which is psychoactive. Rope hemp isn't.

having experimented in my mis-spent youth, I am aware of that.....but my point about hemp being easy to grow stands.....

High Times used to do just that. I was always frustrated that I couldn't get my hands on the pot they talked about.

Ahhh, fond memories of my misbegotten youth.

And once they remove the restrictions on pot, Hemp can once again be a profitable crop for farmers. So many possibilities with that fast growing crop.

wait....don't you have any objections to converting land needed for growing food and causing the price of corn to skyrocket?.......

Part of the Executive, it is Constitutional ( FDA)The FDA is led by the Commissioner of Food and Drugs, appointed by the President with the advice and consent of the Senate. The Commissioner reports to the Secretary of Health and Human Services.

according to Gonzalez V Raich, and back to Wickard v Filburn any homegrown ( Wickard was about wheat) can(is a possibility) effect the total market - so Congress can use the Commerce Clause to limit/outlaw home grown crops that are interstate also.

I agree it's twisted, why I'm a Federalist- the hyperextension of the Commerce Clause is a bane.(1.A cause of great distress or annoyance.)
what you're giving us is the twisted and tortured version that the courts have given to congress, not that actual textual version that the constitution is and was.

Pot will be legal once the tobacco companies are weakened enough that they lose more of a grip on our govt.
