pastor has to marry a black couple at another church

Your bullshit shows through quite brightly in this thread alone, yuck. You are a racist and a liar and an obfuscator and a lot of other rather unflattering things. You suck.

what is the lie? and what did i say that is racist? i knew you would not provide a link like i asked. you're a proven liar.

Not suggesting that you said it .. but the ridiculous notion that Obama's election signaled the end of racism in America has been touted all over right-wing press.

Not sure how you missed it .. but I could post a plethora of articles that prove it to be a right-wing meme.

yet...when you actually read what she says:

Of course, nothing magically changed when Obama was declared president-elect. However, our proper concern is not whether racism still exists, but whether it remains a serious problem. The election of Obama proved, as nothing else could have, that it no longer does.

I make that claim while quite sure that in 2009, a noose or three will be hung somewhere, some employer will be revealed to have used the N-word on tapes of a meeting, and so on. America will remain imperfect, as humans have always been.

I think the pastor was a bit of a coward. Tell the people at the church to fire you and do the right thing. There will absolutely be another church that will hire you for doing that.

A. Let's end the noise about it not being said.

B. Whomever claimed that racism doesn't remain a serious problem doesn't know what they're talking about.

SEE: The prison/industrial complex

SEE: The continued assault on the black community by police and the Just-US System.

SEE: Trayvon Martin

SEE: The War on Drugs

The notion that racism is over in the US is downright stupid.

trayvon martin....sheesh. yeah...there is racism in prison, there is not an assault and the war on drugs is against everyone, not just black people.

racism is not over, but i still have yet to see anyone, other than the poorly worded title of the article, say racism is over. your own article states there will still be racism. you want me to end the "noise" it was not said because your article in fact stated there would still be racism?

please.

It isn't my article .. and I don't agree with it .. however, what is the title of the article?

RACISM IS OVER

Does the author of the article agree that racism is over?

YES .. read the article.

You don't seem to understand the war on drugs and who its victims are.

not to mention telling them that he's scheduled a new sermon series over the next 52 weeks on the subject "what the fuck is the matter with you"......

i have never heard anyone say that soc. the people who i think always see racism and are over sensitive are far left wing nut jobs who are mostly white.

You've never seen anybody from the Right ever say that blacks are always seeing racism...

Of cooooooouuuuuuurse you haven't.

That's what makes you the loyal partisan hack everyone can spot a mile away.

I cite many things. But mostly in here it's all bullshit from jerks like you that don't cite anything at all or at least hardly ever. Need some cheese with that whine?

Even if you do cite someone saying just what Yurt asks for, he will only sidetrack the debate with petty arguments about some grammatical minutiae so he can continue to claim you haven't proven anything.

What a surprise...once again he attempts to bog down the discussion with ridiculous semantic bullshit, and all so he doesn't have to admit he's wrong.

dude...i cited her exact words that said racism will still exist. she was referring to racism being a major problem. i said her title was dumb, but you can't deny she stated racism will continue to exist.

I was referring to the article in post #24 that declares racism is over.

I was referring to the article in post #24 that declares racism is over.

yes i know. and i was quite clear in quoting her article, which it now appears you never read. let me quote her again:

I make that claim while quite sure that in 2009, a noose or three will be hung somewhere, some employer will be revealed to have used the N-word on tapes of a meeting, and so on. America will remain imperfect, as humans have always been.

she flat out says racism will continue. her poor titled article, does not take away her actual words.

now....can you actually provide me one link where someone says there will be ZERO racism because of obama's election? i keep asking....and you keep not providing.

The right in this country continually says that black people are always seeing racism.

they are

They want to pretend that the black community is over sensitive.

They are

The truth is black people in this country go through this kind of racism all the time.

No they don't

As BAC says, it is not typical, but if a CHURCH that claims to follow the teachings of Christ doesn't want "colored folks" married in their church, what stops those same people from not hiring people because they are black, or renting to them, or any myriad of decisions made by the same racists that would not let two black people get married in their church

They should have that right

.

The beauty is that they found a place that WOULD marry them. So what? It is called the freedom to assemble and you have the right to do so based on any reason, whether it be color, race or creed. That isn't to say it is right or wrong, just that you have the right to do it.

I know that libbie heads will be exploding, but they only show their ignorance of the 1st Amendment thinking it only protects their right to porn
