Not suggesting that you said it .. but the ridiculous notion that Obama's election signaled the end of racism in America has been touted all over right-wing press.

I make that claim while quite sure that in 2009, a noose or three will be hung somewhere, some employer will be revealed to have used the N-word on tapes of a meeting, and so on. America will remain imperfect, as humans have always been.
 
I think the pastor was a bit of a coward. Tell the people at the church to fire you and do the right thing. There will absolutely be another church that will hire you for doing that.

SEE: The prison/industrial complex

SEE: The continued assault on the black community by police and the Just-US System.

SEE: Trayvon Martin

SEE: The War on Drugs

The notion that racism is over in the US is downright stupid.

dude...i cited her exact words that said racism will still exist. she was referring to racism being a major problem. i said her title was dumb, but you can't deny she stated racism will continue to exist.

The beauty is that they found a place that WOULD marry them. So what? It is called the freedom to assemble and you have the right to do so based on any reason, whether it be color, race or creed. That isn't to say it is right or wrong, just that you have the right to do it.
