So it is ok to use one legal shelter/deduction/loophole, but not another? Just admit you are jealous of his wealth and be done with it.
Almost all Americans have some investment in overseas companies, whether through their 401K or through simple bank accounts. Reported earnings from such accounts are not tax exempt. It is silly to suggest there is something "tax" related as to why money is in those banks.
Another thing they should pay attention to is that the money is in blind trust. He has no control over where it is invested, other than he has responsibility to pay taxes on the capital gains earnings.

I would make it mandatory for tax records to be shown by all the candidates.
If you were dictator you may be able to do that. I don't disagree, but see it as a moot point. All we need are one or two years of the tax returns to see how the person lives, what they donate, etc. You get no more information from still more tax returns.
Shoot, I don't claim most of my donations, my tax returns aren't even an accurate reflection of that.
Somebody at the IRS has looked carefully at the returns of a Presidential candidate, we'd know if there was something truly problematic. That they release any more than the last year's return as they are running is amazing to me.
I think this is fucking awesome coming from the guy that was all worked up about not seeing Obama's college records.
Also, too, the idea that we'd hear from the IRS if a presidential candidate's tax returns are squirrely is horseshit speculation having no basis in reality whatsoever.
Romney should have a bit of faith in the American People to see whats real and whats not.
I dont blame him personally for taking every advantage available to him, he should. Its just that he is a walking example of whats wrong with our tax code.
