He can win, but can he govern...

Mitt Romney can win without releasing his taxes, it will be hard, but I belive it is possable.

The question then becomes, can he govern on the tax issue? Will he have any moral authority? When they are debating who to give tax cuts to, wont there be a tsunami of outcry about the lack of moral authority the President has on the issue?

Who gives a shit about moral authority? If Rmoney wins, he'll likely have a Republican House and Senate and the tax cuts that he wants can likely be done through reconciliation procedures.

History shows that often when you have a house and senate of the same party as the president there is a lot of in-fighting and its not the easy street everyone expects.

Don't you just love the sound of tax cuts? It spells relief for all who are affected.

Stop with the tax worship, liberals, and celebrate some upcoming relief from an oppressive government.

Jarod, if you think that Romeny and the Republicans won't pass tax cuts along the lines that Romney (and Paul Ryan) are proposing if Romney wins, you need to have your head examined. Seriously. This is just stupid.

Tax cuts without spending cuts... Wow, more economic prosperity like what weve had over the past 8 years if that happens.

I'm all for spending cuts. Department closures would be great and a massive layoff of all the Czars would be like Christmas morning.

This is fun. :)

Fine, all you tax hating Cons can stay off our roads, don't drink our water, don't use our electricity, don't send your kids to our schools, stay the hell out of our parks, keep out of our hospital, don't call 911 when you have an emergency, don't use our bridges and generaly walk your talk or quit being hypocrits.

Hysterical... the same nonsense over and over. No one is suggesting we pay NO taxes you dolt. No one.

What's funny is that that I never claimed that while in reality you think more debt solves a debt problem. Austerity leads to more debt.

You are such a fucking idiot. You are the one who wants to keep on spending, running up more and more deficit spending because you think it is 'cheap money'.

Spending cuts do not lead to more debt you moron. They lead to a more efficient government. You want to continue on pushing the pain into the future so that others can feel the pain of the over-spending habits your kind love.

Nope. I want to spend now to get the economy moving again and to restrain spending during periods of growth. And yes, it is very cheap money right now. Real interest rates are negative on the 20 year for Christ's sake. Borrow now and spend it on stuff that needs to get done anyway.

Spending cuts lead to a slower economy which leads to less revenues which results in more debt which leads to more austerity . . . You want to impose pain now for no good reason.

Tell us genius... what happens when the money you borrow today has to be refinanced in the future? Again, you are fucking over future generations because you don't want any pain. You want them to have it all. For 50 fiscal years+ they have not lowered the national debt. Not once. The only way to stop increasing the debt is to stop spending more than you bring in. Period.

That is pure nonsense. There are trillions sitting on the sideline with consumers and businesses right now because they don't know if the over spending idiots in DC will ever stop, they cannot tell where tax rates are going, the uncertainty is creating the cash hoards.

Show us an example of government spending cuts... real data... real cuts... that led to more debt.

Relax with the melodramatics, comrade. You're barking about essentials that everyone can agree on, though I would be very open to the eventual turnover of all these things to the Private Sector.

What I'm talking about is carving the fat, and I'm certain you already know that.

No. Stop spending, pay down the debt, cut the fat, and lay off the private sector. Government is no position to do anything but purge and heal.
