Good thing NASA doesn't let me have the controls of Curiosity, cause I would have said 'hey, guys... watch this... I'm gunna try sumthin' and then proceeded to hit the Nitrous I had secretly stored aboard Curiosity. :)

seriously though, I love this project, I hope it fulfills the expectations of the information the scientists are hoping to gather.

It s really awsome. Makes me wish I had studied some science and tried to be involved in this research.

Your education only ends when you choose to end it. It is never too late to learn... unless you are a schmuck from Ohio... then you never really had the learning capacity to begin with.

The science is amazing, the possibilities endless.

That being said, it is just as telling about the wisdom of humans, or lack thereof, that we don't invest more in the preservation of the planet that we are already on.

Have humans been good for planet earth?

So, You believe that a 41 year old lawyer with no mathamatical education beyond basic high school algebra could reasonably go on to become a NASA scientest?

That is precisely where those with no learning capacity go, if they can't get in there, they go to USC. The photo is appropriate because it is coincidentally the highest number they can count to as well..

I think we came up with a new handle for you.

agreed

Have locusts? Have deer? Have those mother f'in Mountain Pine beetles?

Thank you for yet another example of Ohioans inability to be creative... though that does stem from the lack of learning capacity earlier discussed.

You are correct, the ability to recognize a world class hater such as yourself does not take much creativity.

I thought for sure this was about Rover Curiosity finding signs of alien life this morning.

We're glad the FHP finally checked his papers and deported him.

It is indeed .. but I thought that while we celebrate discoveries on a different planet, it might be appropriate to ask how good we have been to the one we're already on.

Point being, the balance between discovery and life.

:0) I repeat, yes, they have .. including Mountain Pine Beetles who attack old and weak trees and speed the development of new growth.

Weakened trees yes, not necessarily old. Bottom line is they leave behind dead trees that create extreme fire hazards.

Deer, if left unchecked will destroy crops and over populate... eventually starving themselves.

What I don't understand is the dust on the camera lens situation.
After the last landing, where they had the same problem, couldn't they figure out how to put a removal cover on the lens; or at the very least, a small air canistor with a fixed nozzle, to "puff" the dirt off. :palm:
