Good Choice.

I'll be waiting to see what the GOP masses think of Ryan's voting record in support of gay rights. I was an advocate for the Employee Non-Discrimination Act in 2007. He was quoted as saying "They [his gay friends] didn't roll out of bed one morning and choose to be gay. That's who they are."

So your "good choice" for VP believes gays were born that way? How will you ever live that down?
 
Excellent choice. It'll rally the base...who Romney already has, and alienate the independants.

Us political junkies tend to be a pessimistic lot but I tell you. I'm actually optimistic. I think this is the best slate of candidates in my adult life time. I know partisans of both stripes are gonna take shot at me for that comment but I do. I like both tickets. Well ok, Bidens an old gas bag but he's harmless. I applaud Romney's pick. It's the first time in a long time that a Presidential candidate has shown some balls (excepting Hilliary of course.).

I also believe that some gays might have been born gay. It's like any other condition one might be born with.

I don't think he's interested in chasing left leaning independents, Al. I think it's clear he's going to live or die by getting closer to the core values of his party.

Yes, he should have picked some anti-gay bigot to appeal to all the bigoted GOP masses, but oh fucking well... .Romney blew it!

FYI: Most of the GOP masses are not opposed to gay people having rights.

romney isn't going to win. he is a distraction from obama winning the election again. picking ryan is more proof of my theory that obama has had this in the bag the whole time and romney is a just an easy distraction.

Yesterday, Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan held several town halls, one of which stirred up the topic of immigration and so-called “anchor babies.” What ensued, were some rather insensitive comments from Ryan, in which he noted that “anchor babies cost money,” which is like saying U.S. citizen children cost money — how is it worse when they’re Latino kids?

At the town hall a woman in the audience challenged another ex-Marine constituent who brought up the issue, then asked Ryan when he spoke about “catch and release” immigration whether he was talking about human beings or fish.

This is great because it helps illustrate the negative effects illegal aliens are having on the U.S.
