more double standards of law enforcement

Viewers claiming a double standard after a fired Lee County Sheriff's deputy accused of driving under the influence in a patrol car gets let off the hook in court! A Southwest Florida attorney says the State Attorney should've prosecuted him. Four in your Corner investigator Mike Mason also getting his hands on the dash-cam video so you can decide for yourself if the fired deputy got off too easy.

Fox 4 obtained this dash-cam video from Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) showing its DUI investigation of Milosevic. Reports show Milosevic failed the field sobriety tests and a urine screen showed he had taken high levels of prescription narcotics but, despite this, Milosevic was never convicted of DUI.

Attorney Janese Caruthers says there was more than enough evidence to convict Milosevic. The State Attorney's Office disagrees saying the tests that showed the officer had taken narcotics were part of the Sheriff's internal investigation and, therefore, not admissible in court. Records show Milosevic refused to take a 2nd urine test which could have been used in court against him and he refused to have a drug recognition expert examine him.

A high-ranking state trooper who fled from Saugus Police and had empty beer bottles in his car and alcohol on his breath when he was stopped in November will have all charges dismissed if he stays out of trouble for six months, according to the Advertiser’s news partner WCVB.

State Police Capt. Thomas McCarthy admitted to facts sufficient for a guilty finding to negligent driving and failure to stop charges Monday and a judge continued the case without a finding for six months.

I've read so much about the "good old boy network " down here in Florida. While I love this state's bio-diversity, i hate the southern sheriff mindset.
I could prolly find more of these, but don't feel like doing so. Suffice to say it's way too common.

A veteran Lane County sheriff’s deputy has pleaded “no contest” to a drunken-driving charge stemming from his arrest in Springfield in mid-May.

A Springfield Municipal Court judge on Thursday accepted Les Sieczkowski’s written plea and allowed him to be placed in a diversion program. The misdemeanor charge will be dismissed in July 2013 if Sieczkowski successfully completes the program.

Kidnapping victim found in tied up in NYPD detectives garage

and instead of being arrested, he's put on unpaid leave.

Sources say Ondre Johnson, a 17-year veteran of the Brooklyn North gang unit, was being questioned by internal affairs about his involvement in the kidnapping of a 25-year-old victim off the street early Friday morning.

Police tracked the victim to the house in St. Albans off the victim's cell phone pings.

When police arrived Friday night, they found the victim tied up in the garage.

Johnson denied any involvement with the kidnapping, but his cousin, Hakeem Clark -- who lives in the other half of the detective's two-family home -- has been charged with kidnapping, along with three other men.

Sources say police found a safe and equipment used to make fake credit cards inside the home.

Law enforcement sources told NBC 4 New York that Johnson is not expected to be charged with kidnapping at this point, but he has been suspended and stripped of his badge and his gun as the investigation continues.

Mods? Is this a bannable offense?

Now that's out of the way, isn't it funny that the one person constantly denying involvement with racism steals the writings of an avowed racist?

YOU said that, not me.

ex cops fed firearms violations, no prison

Two former Richmond police officers who admitted they illegally bought guns for underage employees at an off-duty security company they operated - and then tried to obstruct a federal investigation to cover their tracks - won't have to serve time in prison, a federal judge decided Tuesday.

"It could have been worse," U.S. District Court Judge Claudia Wilken said before announcing what she described as lenient sentences.

She sentenced Danny Harris, 32, of Pinole, to six months in a halfway house, and Raymond Thomas, 34, of Fairfield, to six months of home detention.

A federal prosecutor had urged the judge to impose prison time as an example to other officers who might cross the line.

The sentences set off a celebration from the officer's supporters in the courtroom hallway.

Wilken said while their crimes disturbed her, the guns were never intended for the hands of "dangerous people like drug dealers or gang members."

and I would be given the same leniency for those crimes also, right???????

A former Atlanta police officer was convicted of sexually assaulting a young girl he met while on duty.

Bernett Collins, 43, pled guilty to sexual battery, distributing sexually explicit material to a minor and violation of oath of office.

The incident apparently happened between January and April 2010.

According to court documents, Collins met the then-13-year-old during a call at the teen's home.

After meeting her, he randomly visited and sent text messages to her.

The teen told officials he requested topless pictures or just wearing underwear.

Collins also sent explicit pictures of himself to the minor, according to reports.

Collins also hugged and groped the victim inappropriately while at her home, prompting the sexual battery charge.

The victim eventually reported officer Collins to her school resource officer.

Collins was fired by the Atlanta Police Department in May 2012 for violating departmental policies.

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Kelly Amanda Lee sentenced Collins to five years' probation.

Collins must register as a sex offender
and may not have contact with minors, including the victim.
