The GOP keeps digging deeper and deeper.

Nope... They are EXPLOITING these comments because they know they can't run on Obama's dismal record, and they believe this could cause a rift between the evangelicals and the more socially libertarian republicans.

They are exploiting those comments because they think it shows some serious issues with come of the people in the GOP.

Hard to argue with that.

when party A or candidate A misrepresents the party or candidate of Party B, is it proper for people to vote based upon the perceptions they draw from that misrepresentation.....

I don't vote based on the perceptions of others. But it IS an issue and will continue to be an issue with the voters for this elections, because I am far from typical.

I would like to see voters make their decision based onbeing informed and educated about what the candidates believe and what they will do. But that is pretty much a pipedream.

ah, and when was it a presidential candidate made those remarks?......for that matter, the Senate candidate who did, came back and admitted his comments were wrong and apologized......has the Democrat Senate candidate come back and apologized for supporting the killing of the unborn?.....

That's it...make more excuses.

It's the REPUBLICAN PARTY that included that outlandish anti-abortion plank in their party platform.

/shrugs....and what's outlandish about being opposed to people killing their unborn children?.......that's pretty much been our opinion since the 70s......hasn't hurt us much, has it?.....

Given the "Republicans hate women" chants that have been going around, this is just another brick in that wall. It isn't going away.

Isn't it ironic... The Republicans have Romney and Ryan, two devoted and loyal husbands and fathers, who have never cheated on their wives, never been accused of sexual harassment, and certainly never rape. And the Democrat's keynote speaker at their convention will be a man who was accused of sexual harassment and rape, cheated on his wife, and lied to her and the American people about it, resulting in his own impeachment and disbarment... but Democrats are FOR women, and Republicans are AGAINST women?

I think the individual transgressions will not be noted as much as the stance the parties have taken. When the republican party has gone against Planned Parenthood (a major source of breast cancer screening) whether Romney or Ryan have ever cheated is pretty much irrelevant.

I'm sorry, but there is no evidence to support the allegation the republican party "has gone after" Planned Parenthood. Do you have any speeches calling for a ban or any kind of action against PP? As far as I know, the GOP simply opposes federal funding of PP. And while PP may do wonderful things like breast cancer screenings, there are certainly other options for this, and everyone in America who is not a complete moron, knows and understands what PP's primary function is... which isn't breast exams.

Now.... I don't care, maybe you are liberal, maybe conservative, or even libertarian... do you really think our tax dollars should fund things we are fundamentally opposed to? Are libertarians okay with tax dollars funding the War on Drugs? Are liberals okay with tax dollars funding wars in Iraq? So then, why is it that you expect pro-life Republicans to be okay with funding abortions? Why do we have these two standards, where it's okay for your 'side' to vehemently protest and demand cuts in funding for things you think are stupid, but the other 'side' is not allowed to? If liberals could have gotten the votes in Congress to defund Bush's war in Iraq, they would have giddily done so, and never thought twice about it! If libertarians could garner enough votes to disband the DEA and end the War on Drugs, they would do it in a heartbeat, and never feel the least bit remorseful. So why is it, pro-life advocates can't lobby for the same sort of thing without being castigated and lampooned?

Oh, of course they won't! How the hell else could the DNC have a known philanderer and accused rapist be their keynote speaker on the Pro-Women platform?

And "Women's Issues?" Tell me, what exactly ARE these issues? Abortion rights? Contraception? Is this ALL the DNC thinks is important to women in America? How does it feel, ladies, to be treated like a bunch of air headed bimbos? Here's some free contraceptives, vote for US, we care about women! Are women so shallow that's all it takes? Like throwing candy to a baby... here's you some contraceptives sweetie, now make sure to give us your support! Does the DNC not think women care about jobs and the economy, and our debt crisis? Apparently so! Apparently all it takes is dangling free contraceptives at them, and they will just tag along!

While the rest of us have a choice, we can either support this Marxist Socialist and his agenda to destroy America and be "for women," or we can support the Constitution, freedom and liberty, and be "against women!"
