The local national guard may be part of the problem if stuff starts. They are, after all, locals. I doubt presidential elections will trigger any serious violence. But of something did, I wouldn't bet on it being a handful of rednecks against the national guard.

No thanks. I don't need to surf thru dozens of pages of militia propaganda or ridicule. I just didn't see that pic as anything but a paintballer. I guess I'll have to take your word for it that he is militia and planning something besides a weekend of shooting paint at his buddies.
 
The article from the OP was referencing the comments of a judge in Texas.

I don't see "militia" mentioned at all. I think he is referring to the public being outraged and taking up arms.

The public taking up arms is not strictly the militia. I am part of the public, but I am not a member of any militia. If the general population revolts, will they automatically be a militia? A militia is a civilian military organization. It sounds to me as though the judge is not expecting it to be limited to just militia, but on a much larger scale.

So members of the public taking up arms to oppose tyranny (as they see it) aren't militia?
