Mitt Romney: “I was too important to go to Vietnam”

As far as actual post content is concerned on JPP, the only rules are:

1. No personal information
2. No porn
3. no sexually explicit stuff involving kids
4. no spam (this almost never comes up)

everything else you are free to say whatever you want.

On to the second part of your post:

I am not bragging about "how stupid they are" I don't think they are stupid. I am bragging about how they have historically do not support liberal policies. And that no matter what anyone wants to say or cry about, they will continue to support conservatives.

I then conclude that I think you are wrong to assume that anyone that disagrees with you politically is because they are "stupid or brainwashed" that's very elitest, and quite sad. I am often elitest myself, but at least I own that, and also, I'm usually trolling or using hyperbole.

Good for you.

So Grind is just making shit up?

The more I think about it, the more I realize there's not a lot out there to show military connies are supporting Romney. Let's see if Grind posts some anecdotal evidence, you know, the kind he was just chastising Bijou for posting.

Don't hold your breath.

Couldn't respond to legion because I ignore him.

I don't know why you would insist on embarrassing yourself with a full on assault of facts to your brain, facts that are obvious to anybody in the known universe. To deny this obvious truth of nature is the height of delusional thinking.

Among Military Veterans: Romney 59% Obama 35%

Most military veterans don’t like the job President Obama is doing and prefer Mitt Romney in November’s election.

New Rasmussen Reports polling finds that 59% of Likely U.S. Voters who have served in the military favor the Republican challenger, while 35% support the president.

LOL.

Once more, Grind (who fears me) pretends that the poll he found showing responses from former military (veterans, mostly older men) prove his contention that "the military loves Romney".

Are older veterans still in the military?

No surprise that old white men prefer another old white man, is there?

No surprise that Grind can't prove his point.

No surprise that he hides from me although he reads all my posts.

you can support a war without fighting it in.

liberals, it's time to stop pretending the troops support you. Most in the military are going to vote against obama and for romney. The troops don't like you because you hate america and shit on them all the time. If no one was watching you probably would still spit on them just like in vietnam.

Face facts, the military LOOOOOVES romney.

any poll from any point in time is going to have more military supporting conservatives than liberals. Sorry, those are the facts, the military are not on the liberal team. They are on the conservative team and they love smashing liberals and liberal policies.

Is there any proof that "the military supports Romney"?

So Grind is just making shit up?

Yes. Grind is lying. I think we should call him Papa Yurt.

In 2008, President Obama lost the veteran vote to Senator John McCain 55% to 45%. But the demographics are shifting and Democrats sense an opportunity. In a recent Reuters/Ipsos poll Mr. Obama leads Romney among that group 44% to 37%.

Of course, these polls don't tell the whole story as they poll veterans, not active duty military. Vets who respond to polls such as those from Military Times are overwhelmingly retired officers, skewering the poll towards the right.

A real litmus test is by polling active duty enlisted members, who far outnumber officers and who are overwhelmingly supporting Obama. It is interesting to note, though, the number of military who donated to the anti-war Paul when (or is it if?) he was a viable candidate.

Members of the military sent $36,448 to Obama and just $17,733 to Paul. Even though Romney solidified his position as the presumptive Republican nominee, military donations to his campaign remained anemic -- only $8,630.

Grind may be right, but he is apparently too incompetent to prove it.

LOL

I take it none of the liberal idiots took the time to click on the link to the article or what the source was....

Although Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney was of conscription age during the Vietnam War, he neither was drafted for nor enlisted in the U.S. armed forces at that time. He received a total

of four draft deferments between 1965 and 1970, three for academic studies (i.e., student deferments) and one for serving as a 'minister of religion' while performing Mormon missionary work in France. By the time his deferments ended, Mitt Romney's birth date had been drawn at number 300 in the Selective Service lottery; since the highest lottery number called for that group was 195, Romney was not drafted into the service.

Although Mitt Romney was not a "draft dodger" (all of his deferments were valid and legally obtained), some critics have maintained that the contrast between his actively seeking deferments and his later statements about serving in Vietnam is evidence of hypocrisy.

But regardless of whatever else he may have said on the subject, Mitt Romney never proclaimed that he was "too important to go to Vietnam." That statement came from a fictitious bit of political humor which spoofed the issue of Romney's military service and was published in June 2012 by the Free Wood Post, a satirical web site which states in its Disclaimer that:
