OT: Political Discussions on Facebook

How many of you get into political discussions on Facebook or have friends that start lots of political threads which turn into good/fun reads? I have several and it's great. I looked at who 'likes' Obama and Romney and I have 93 friends that like Obama and 8 that like Romney.

I rarely will comment on a political thread on Facebook. I have no problem with those that do it's just not my thing. What about you young bucks? Do you have the great Ron Paul on your pages?

I will 'Like' something someone posts if I agree with it. Occasionally I will respond. I've had a few friends delete me for my views on gay marriage. I don't consider that much of a loss.

Mostly FB is non-political.

Most of my friends who are inclined to discuss politics are hardcore liberal, I don't generally argue because there isn't enough room on a facebook comment to express my irritation with the democrat party.

If I were on facebook, I would not talk politics. I don't talk politics with friends. I just don't like to do it.

Facebook is horrendous. I have studiously avoided people who wish to be my 'friends' choosing only family. However not long ago a lady who I assisted with her PhD asked if she could be my friend. I must have been drinking that day cos I said yes. Now everytime I go to my facebook page it is filled with more and more pictures of bloody cats! I can't 'unfriend' her, it wouldn't be nice (and I wouldn't know how to) so I am condemned to be part of this girl's (she is quite nice really) bloody collection of cats!

You can change the setting so it won't appear on your news feed. I've done that with a few of the more politically extreme people on my friends list.

That depends. Here in Columbus I talk politics with my friends but most of them are profesional types and some are active in politics so the discussion may get heated or passionate but they're usually civil and respectful. When I go out to rural Ohio to visit friends and family cause even the people you agree with talk like "I'm right and you don't know what the fuck you're talking about!". They talk that way about sports too.

That's an easy one to deal with. Just post cat recipes.

Now that's what I like. Anyone got any. kebabbed cat? Breast of cat a l'orange? Pickled paws with chilly on toast? Cat's tail soup?
Cat Adobo. Cut a cat into bite size pieces. Take large pot and about 2 tbsp cooking oil. Brown the cat pieces. Add 1 tsp minced ginger, 4 minced cloves garlic and sautee till fragrant. Add 1/3 cup rice wine vinegar and 2/3 cup soy sauce. Add 1 tablespoon black pepper, 2 bay leafs. Bring to a boil. Cover and reduce heat to simmer. Simmer till cat is tender, about 45 minutes. Serve over steamed rice.
