He who laughs last!

Oh this is hillarious. Jimmy Carters grandson was the person who persuaded the source of the video of Rommney's now infamous gaffe to release it. After all the years of hearing his grandfather villified by right wing nuts he must be laughing his ass off!! Oh revenge is a dish best served cold! LOL LOL LOL

They have some things in common......both have brothers that are usually drunk....

Rmoney has something in common with another Republican scumbag named Nixon...both were exposed as scumbags by recordings leaked to the media.

BTW, Blabo, Billy Carter died in 1988.

Poor Blabo.

He who laughs last, indeed!

they have lots of things in common....
lousy economy during their administration
high gas prices
trouble with Iran

now, embassies attacked.....
They also have this in common. They both inherited governments and economies devestated by Republican incompetence and implemented the unpopular policy's that corrected the problems.

ROFLMAO...

1) Carter destroyed the economy, Reagan inherited Carter's mess
2) Who controlled Congress in 2007 and 2008? Oh yeah, the incompetent Dems. The same incompetent Dems who cannot even pass a simple budget, let alone govern.
3) What unpopular policy of Obama's has 'corrected the problem'??? He has done nothing of the sort. Short term stop gap measures, no real solutions.
4) What unpopular policy of Carter's did anything to help? He was a complete failure economically. Double digit inflation, double digit interest rates, consistently high unemployment. You crack me up Mutt.

Oh the irony here after all the rotten things Mitt and his campaign has said about Carter is just to rich to be believed.

How is it 'ironic'???

Carter was a horrid President, with only Bush Jr and Obama to race him for the worst President since Hoover.

Carters son getting the person who illegally taped the Romney event to send it to Mother Jones does not change that, nor does it make it ironic. It just shows that Carters son is equally pathetic.

I think you are going to wrong about Obama, you forgot to mention your guy, Bush 43, he will be rated worse than Hoover and Carter.

Oh, SF, upset because his guy Romney, exposed!

Never mind all of that. Here's what it really is:

Awesome
Bitchen
Hilarious

And here's what your boy Romney is:

Pathetic
Laughing stock
Epic Failure
Done for

LOL. Here's unemployment under Carter and during Reagan's first term. Also, too, recessions are indicated by the dark bands:

"Consistently high unemployment?" Not really, particularly not as compared to Reagan.

Double digit interest rates are a function of FED policy so I don't see how Carter can be faulted for those even though the rates were about the same or lower over the entirety of his first term as compared to Reagan, but that was done to get inflation in check so it's kind weird that you bitch about both. Here's another chart. The blue line is the federal funds rate and the red line is inflation:

Also, too, the Dems were in office for like 11 in months in 07 before the recession hit and the seeds that led to the financial crisis had been sown long before that -- when Republicans ran everything.

This was Mott's comment that SF responded to. Would you like to show your statistics or evidence of what unpopular policies Carter implemented to fix the economy that Nixon/Ford destroyed?

Obama is still up in the air to a degree, that is true. As for Bush... I think you need to learn to read a little more carefully. None of them will be rated worse than Hoover. The race is on for which of the three goes down as the worst since Hoover. Carter put forth a valiant effort at sucking, Bush Jr. did as well, Obama is digging a hole just as fast as he can, just in case he only has one term like Carter.

Romney exposed? LMAO... um ok... he was exposed as being conservative... shocking...

LOL. Here's unemployment under Carter and during Reagan's first term. Also, too, recessions are indicated by the dark bands:

dear polly... as I stated, Reagan inherited a terrible ECONOMY from Carter. Just as I stated. Double digit inflation, interest rates, high unemployment. I did not state that Reagan did not have any periods of high unemployment, nor did I state that the economy was in the technical definition of a recession.

Now, do you have anything that actually pertains to my comments or do you plan to continue creating straw men?

I think Bush is most comparable to Johnson. Though Johnson's positive accomplisments far exceeded George W. Bush both presidencies are over shadowed and condemned for having misled our nation into an unneccesary war in which vast amounts of treasure was wasted and many innocent lives lost.

In terms of the Presidents in my life time there's no arguement, hands down Nixon was the worst. Nixon permanantly slimed the office of the White House. He purposefully lied to the nation on the matter of war, he grossly abused power, comitted prosecutable criminal acts, shattered and demoralized our military, left the economy in shambles, just to name a few of his failings. In his own words as he left office "Boy, I sure made a mess of things". Talk about an understatemnt.

Not including the current office holder I'd rate the Presidents from best to worst in my life time as.

#9. Richard Nixon
#8. George W. Bush
#7. Lyndon Johnson
#6. Gerald Ford ( a good man, a profile in courage but still an accidental President)
#5. Jimmy Carter
#4. George H. W. Bush
#3. JFK
#2. Ronald Reagan
#1. Bill Clinton

To be honest with you since 1960 we've only had one truly bad President. Nixon. I mean W may have been an inept putz but he wasn't a criminal. It's also hard to evaluate JFK's Presidency cut short as it was.

Carter hired Paul Volcker as fed chair and endorsed his policy to raise the federal funds rate knowing that it would create a short term spike in all ready historically high prime interest rates. It worked, it slowed down the rate of inflation but it was one of the most politically unpopular moves of that time. However it worked. In fact it worked so well that Ronald Reagan reappointed Volcker in 1983.
