i mean, apple maps is just starting, they are competing with something google has been doing almost a decade. the actual interface isn't bad, and for my area seems to be good right now. It'll probably get better with time. In any case, google is going to be releasing their ios6 version of maps pretty soon anyway, so the whole thing is moot.

I can't see your hero Mr. Jobs allowing that to happen, I read about a time in 2008 when he called the team responsible for a service into a meeting, can't remember what, berated the lot of them and sacked the team leader in front of them.

and honestly with the internet shit conniption it's even more likely they will put it through. the only people that would get the maps app are the ones that want to go out of their way to get it anyway. the reason apple decided to split is they didn't want to be forced to rely on google way down the road. which is a smart move. otherwise google could totally strong arm them.

I won't be apologizing at all. That rape thread was a low mark on this board. The fact that Tom actually posted videos of young women dancing in short skirts as a reason for rape and not one man on this board called him on it, was shocking.

Fact: Tom is an obvious and inarguable rape apologist.

Fact: Tom by posting that video proved he does not know what consent is.

Fact: Tom told a story about a "Friend" of his who was "falsely" accused of rape. I expressed my opinion that there might not be any "friend".

Bottom line: The one who squeals is the one you hit.
