Obama Leads in Latest Swing-State Polls as First Debate Nears

Sept. 28 (Bloomberg) -- President Barack Obama leads Republican challenger Mitt Romney in the swing state of New Hampshire and runs narrowly ahead of him in the battlegrounds of North Carolina and Nevada, according to polls released last night in the run-up to next week’s first presidential debate.

The latest results are in line with other recent surveys showing Obama with the edge in states that strategists in both parties say will decide who wins the White House on Nov. 6. The new NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist College poll shows Obama ahead among likely voters in New Hampshire, 51 percent to 44 percent, and with two-point edges in Nevada, 49 percent to 47 percent, and North Carolina, 48 percent to 46 percent.

The Debates tend to be a lose/lose prospect for Presidential candidates. They rarely ever help you but on a couple of occassions have hurt them.

I'm going to watch the first debates because I don't buy that BS for a second. Romeny didn't get through Harvards accellerated JD/MBA program by being stupid. He's slow playing his hand is all. Granted he does not have Obamas oratorical skills but this isn't a speech. It's a debate. I'm thinking that this could be the best Presidential debate in a long long time on substance. Both men are extremely sharp, knowledgable, professional and well prepared. I think these debates will only serve to confirm peoples positions that they have all ready arrived at. I seriously doubt that the debates will be a game changer or have a significant impact on the polls.

Still and all, they should be highly entertaining and informative and I'm looking forward to them.

If you remember when Obama invited the GOPs over to discuss the ACA for a live broadcast.

The GOP got their ass handed to them.
