More 'Fast and Furious' Guns Linked to Mexican Crimes

A new report by our partners at Univision has found additional links between violent crimes in Mexico and guns involved in the Obama administration's flawed "Fast and Furious" operation.

Fifty-seven previously unidentified weapons tied to the operation - allowed to "walk" across the U.S. border into Mexico so ATF agents could trace them - were later found at the sites of murders, kidnappings and at "two gruesome massacres," Univision's Gerardo Reyes and Santiago Wills report .

The reporters made the discovery by cross-referencing a list of guns registered with "Fast and Furious" and a Mexican government list of the roughly 60,000 guns recovered at crime scenes in 2009 and 2010.

In July, a congressional investigation into the program reported 122 weapons had been traced to Mexican crime scenes. The Univision report adds 57 weapons to that list.

One thing I believe that Mexican drug gangs are not short of are guns, so why does a few more make any difference?

Yep....if not for F/F, there would be no drug related killing in Mexico.

Proof positive that Obama is tough on immigration. Kill them there, so we don't have to kill them here.

seriously? we armed drug gangs and that does not make a difference?

That's not the point I am making, the Mexican drug cartels are making billions so I doubt that they are short of funds to buy guns. What are we actually talking about anyway? 100 maybe 200 guns, holy shit these guys can afford to buy enough guns to equip a few infantry divisions!!

all those who died by F&F guns likely disagree with you and their family as well.

This reflects poorly on government. If it reflected poorly on the private sector, private citizens (specifically, their rights), churches, charities, etc., then the lefties would care to talk about it.

Lot's of people seem to believe, for example, that the guys who made the anti-Muslim video are living proof of how antequated the 1st Amendment is. If the ATF had distributed it, then they wouldn't care so much...

As far as I can ascertain, the ATF had implemented a policy of gun walking since 2006 in an attempt to identify the drug cartels and dismantle them. What I am not sure of is whether that was ever going to work or not, had that been tried in the past and worked successfully or was it a new idea?

It didn't work, because the corrupt Mexican govt. didn't comply w/the US.

F/F was the same program, without letting the corrupt Mexican govt. take part.

Clearly, there will never be an answer to the problem, as long as Mexico's leaders are addicted to drug money.

Wow how racist to blame the latinos

whats not surprising is that the very possibility of this getting laid at the desk of Holder and Obama prompted the democrats and the Liberals to completely ignore the very clear violation of federal firearms export laws. Those found involved have been allowed to resign or retire without charge. Those higher ups have been cleared of any involvement, purely for political purposes. The only ones who have been overwhelmingly punished have been the whistle blowers. But lots of liberals were quite happy to see a nearly a dozen citizens lose everything they had and more, for doing the very same thing that the gunwalkers of the federal government did.

I wonder if the Univision exposé will have any impact on the Latino vote. Not that they would turn to Romney but that they stay home
