Bullies

Any one who attacks and harasses another person for who they are is a bully.

Yeah...the folks that know each other from AOL or were on other boards together do this continually....its more personal than political....
When it gets personal, it moves into the area of "bullying"....

"think it is fine to start every debate by calling those who might disagree pinheads"

Pinhead is slang for a stupid person.....how else can it be phrased ?......
When a fact is posted and its mis-characterized and spun into and untruth defended with vigor or words taken out of context are used
to foster a complete lie..............you've met a pinhead....lol

Its the only polite way to get that point across......

He could start with "I am a closed minded fool that will not consider alternate views." It is one thing to go there in the heat of discussion or to preaddress known counters. But he leads with that ALL the time and ALWAYS has. It serves no useful purpose and only leads him to repeated errors.

Anger and vitriol are not effective politically or as a way to explore your own ideas.

I really don't care about any of that as bullying. As you said it is usually more about frustration. But by feeding that frustration it quickly becomes a mental roadblock. I am certain I have misunderstood you at times and usually due to frustration with someone else that you defend. Inevitably I am doing myself a disservice with that approach.

There has been a lot of talk online and in the news about bullies.

Most of us picture the schoolyard bully or someone similar. And yet, we tolerate such cruel language and words against so many people.

Does the target of the bullying have to be weak or young for bullying to be wrong?

What constitutes bullying? Is calling someone insulting names bullying?
I was bullied by the Captain of our football team when I was in highschool. I knee capped the prick. Stopped that shit. My Dad was so proud of me. :)

The point was, a fact has no alternate view....it is a fact, an undeniable truth......
Pinhead, as I use it, is to bait the opposition to try to refute, spin and otherwise attempt to ignore some statement of what is absolute fact....pardon me if its unbearably offensive to you...
And if you pay close attention, you'll find this tactic is used quite effectively by both sides using other words and phrases....some much more offensive and crude....
even by the fairer sex occasionally.....

But it is what it is.....get over it.....its really not that big a deal.....

None TamponString

This is an anonymous message board. This doesn't define me. I don't give two shits what you call me. You do because you changed your name after I started calling you Tamponstring. Clearly you like to dish it out but you can't take it. You should have learned from Homo Howey

We are not all anonymous anymore.

The name change was for fun. I was due. I plan to continue that.

But PLEASE, continue using your tag for me. It only serves to turn the audience against you due to imagery you evoke. Mine, StubbornResistsnceToFacts, is clever and funny. Yours are just vulgar.

When I pointed out the last screenname I knew you under is what seemed to bother you. I don't know why but whatever.

I still do not get your angle. Either you are trolling and aware of your effect or you are a fool.

Again, I don't care about that. I was not talking about you but you can take my advice or reject it. It's your loss.

Go back and look at what I said in my initial response. I feel pained by my own namecalling. Not any of yours.

The real bullying are the invasions of privacy and cyberstalking and I am not talking about aol.

In truth I view it as part of growing up. Learning how to deal with assholes and pricks is necessary in the real world.
