First October Surprise???

By whom? The President's speech is what it is, it was posted in full, no "context" issues for you to rant about. If you see something racist in it, it isn't from the people who simply published the full speech rather than an edited out of context version we had access to before.

What I found racist about it was the commentary I saw on television last night painting the president as an angrey black man. He did not appear angery in the video at all. His tone may have had a bit of black dialect to it, but all skilled speakers change the tone a bit to mimic the audience. I saw a video last night of Newt going on and on about how the President is not a "real President" because he plays basketball and does not have a good work ethic, and newt mentioned a few times that he does not understand the President's "rythum". Now I belive this is the first time I have called the presidents detractors racist, because honestly I often do not see it when others do, but this time it was clear to me.

The President was absolutely ignoring a few facts that as a Senator (at that time) he knew to be true. $7 Billion given directly to NO with no strings attached to begin with, secondly that the Stafford money (sans requirement of 10%) of $110 Billion for the region was voted on and passed before his speech...

That it "makes sense" to Apple notwithstanding, it was simply inaccurate nonsense.

Much like saying that the president claimed that people did not build there own businesses. I dont like it but twisting the facts to make a political point is what they all try to do, some fall for it more often than others.

I guess if the media can go back 50+ years to when Mitt was in HS to find something to talk about, 2007 isn't that far back to go for something.

Maddow of course has already said the release of this video means the right wants to focus on Obama being black. Of course it couldn't possibly be a look at the content of what a Presidential candidate said or anything, it must be because he is black.

The only surprise is the depth of republican/right-winger/teabagger desperation.

That fact that the right is desperately racist is of no surprise.

LOL... the funny thing is, it is the left that is desperate to paint the right as racist. Yet in the video, it is Obama that comes off in a bad light. So what does the left do? Oh yeah, immediately fall back on the 'u racist' chant.

What desperation to point the right out as racists? Surely this is satire.

One would have to be the blind klansman not to see the all too obvious racism of the right.

That being said .. you should just go for it. The illusion doesn't exist anyway. You belong to a virtually all-white party full of racists .. so just go for it. Remove all the stops .. if there are any left .. and simply openly declare your party the party of white racism, the world already knows it anyway.

Stop pretending .. grow a pair .. and profess your undying love of separation.

1) Since I am agnostic, that actually is half true
2) Football is far and away the most popular sport in America (in terms of viewing... I think Soccer is still the most popular in terms of number of people playing)
3) Baseball should not even be considered a sport... it can be fun to go sit in the sun and drink with friends, but even then most fans don't watch the game unless they are playing mound ball or something.
#1. I'm a deist myself so I can split the difference with you there.
#2. Wrong! Nude mixed doubles indoor body surfing is by far the most popular sport in America! (Both as a spectator sport and otherwise).
#3. Football combines the two worst attributes of American culture. Violence punctuated by commitee meetings.

yes, satirical of the left's incessant desire to paint the right with the racist label

One would have to be the blind klansman not to see the all too obvious racism of the right.

While there is certainly racism from extremists on the right, the same can be said on the left. It is the absurd desire of the left to paint the entire right as racists that is comical.

ROFLMAO... I am no more a Rep than you are a Dem. That said, there are again just as many racists on the left as there are on the right. You simply do not wish to acknowledge that.

Stop pretending .. grow a pair .. and profess your undying love of separation.

That type of nonsense is more befitting Dung and his followers. It is beneath you.

Geeze what will the repubican party do next make up complete lies?

Oh my bad they already have tried that one repetedly

Dude, read the Daily Caller piece. If you don't get the fact that the sum total of all of that nonsense is that Obama is BLACKITY BLACK BLACK BLACK BLACK, you should be checked for a pulse.

It's not the entire right, but it's pretty mainstream. Drudge and the Daily Caller and the National Review are mainstream right-wing outfits that trade in racism and dog-whistles all the fucking time. There's pretty much no equivalent on the left at all.

LOLers. If anything, this is why Republicans are underrepresented in polls -- because so few of you admit it and prefer other asinine labels because you think it makes you look smarter or something. It's really weird.

Where my people at?

I agree that it was over the top. That was meant as comedy .. but not the rest of my post.

Here's the undeniable fact that you won't acknowledge ...

In 2012 .. almost 50 years after the passage of the Civil Rights ACt, the Republican Party is still virtually all-white .. AND, it is drowning in racist attempts to block the votes of non-white people.

You can try to make lemonade out of that, but it's going to be nasty.

I didn't know you had followers. That's hitting the big time.

Totally. If you find any of them let me know. I imagine the best part of having followers is that they will do my bidding for me and shit. I need to take advantage of that.

I think you meant to say 'that is what the Democrats have done repeatedly'...

But I know... you only seek 'truth' as long as it doesn't make your party look bad. When the 'truth' makes your messiah look bad, THEN we should just ignore it or pretend the right is all racist.

I agree that it was over the top. That was meant as comedy .. but not the rest of my post.

Fair enough.

Here's the undeniable fact that you won't acknowledge ...

In 2012 .. almost 50 years after the passage of the Civil Rights ACt, the Republican Party is still virtually all-white .. AND, it is drowning in racist attempts to block the votes of non-white people.

The demographics are what they are. There is nothing and I do mean NOTHING racist about requiring ID's to vote. What is racist is pretending that minorities aren't capable of getting ID's. Given everything that requires IDs these days.... including getting a job... I would think you would be an advocate for ensuring everyone had an ID, rather than continuing the nonstop whining that IDs are just so hard to get for minorities.

Again, as stated, there is every bit as much racism from the left as the right. You simply refuse to acknowledge that. You want to pretend it is otherwise because you, like most on the right, don't want to be seen in the same ballpark as a racist.

the really sad part is that the Dems support the idea of continued dependency on the government. Keeping the poor in their place. Given the percentages of minorities that fall into this category, it is truly sad to see how they continue to support the party that wishes to keep them down. The party that doesn't want them to have a choice of schools to give their kids a better chance. The party that under Clinton and Obama have pushed hard on a drug war that disproportionately hammers young minorities. So do tell... why do minorities support the Dems in such large numbers?
