Akin: Abortions On Women Who "Are Not Actually Pregnant"

1. i don't know if his claim is true

2. i find it sick that liberals like howey and bijou find this funny, because if true, this is sick.

3. we know for a fact doctors have billed and treated patients for treatment they didn't need. so his claim could in fact be a reality.

4. but all hacks like bijou and howey see are --> republican --> mock --> stop thinking --> parrot party points

Akin's idiocy is based on a report from the Chicago Sun-Times in 1978 claiming that "dozens" of abortion mills were tricking women into thinking they were pregnant, then charging them for abortions.

There is no recent data to suggest anything like this is happening or has happened in the recent past. It's just more anti-Planned Parenthood hooey from the 'legitimate rape' Akin camp of nutjobs. Said nutjobs can claim anything they want by using the 'there's no accurate reporting on abortion', leaving it wide open for said nutjobs to purport pretty much anything.

While it's not an outlandish notion that doctors would perform unnecessary procedures for profit, this particular story's (and its backers, Akin and Abby Johnson) veracity is dubious, due to the credibility of who's using it for political gain (Akin) and to sell books (Johnson). Sorry, but the Republicans' credibility is in the toilet.

This clown would make a dandy VP for the Democrats.....he and Biden have about the same IQ.

ok. does that mean it does not happen today?

maybe a new study needs to be done.

is it your claim that no doctor has ever performed a false abortion?

Face it, folks...

GOP will not win back the senate.

And the fringe-right poster boy is back in action!!

There's no evidence to suggest that it does.

Bring it. I'm all for uncovering the truth.

I won't say it's never happened, but without a credible report, all we have is Team Akin's claim. That's not enough for me.

of course....if a democrat had said the same thing you would be soy sauce on rice all over it.

you dissed his claim based on nothing but your partisan hackery. you didn't even consider it credible. you didn't even think about it.

think next time bijou, think.

Why do you just ignore Johnson's claim, made just 3 years ago....?

You just throw up your hands and claim she only wants to sell books.....suppose shes telling the truth ? Then what...

Crazy Akin's claim becomes valid and you just can't swallow that can you............

After the abysmal credibility Akin has already demonstrated, any claims he makes are dubious. That's how it is in the real world. His 'R' status certainly doesn't help - in fact, it's part and parcel of his credibility problem. The end (winning) justifies the means (lying) to the GOP.

Let's see evidence of the claim in the present. Not from 34 years ago.

you just proved my point. you don't care about the actual facts or issues....all you care about is the letter after their name.

who cares if he made a stupid statement before...that has no bearing on this statement. to presume such, is hackery.

period.

Let me amend that...How about THIS YEAR

A Planned Parenthood affiliate in Texas knowingly sent in about $6 million in false claims to Medicaid and took steps to cover up its acts, says a federal “whistleblower” lawsuit that was unsealed Friday.
