New Details From Libya Consulate Attack: State Department Abandons Claim Of Protest Outside Gates

The deadly September attack on a U.S. consulate in Libya was not precipitated by an anti-American protest, as had originally been reported, the State Department disclosed Tuesday night. According to reports from ABC and the Associated Press, the State Department now acknowledges that "gunfire and explosions near the front gate" were the first signs of danger precipitating the attacks that killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans.

This revelation stands in contrast to the story originally reported by the Obama administration and others, who claimed that a protest against the anti-Islam film "The Innocence of Muslims" outside the American consulate was co-opted by violent extremists.

The administration has come under harsh criticism from conservative critics in recent weeks over its actions before and after the attack. The first congressional hearing on the Sept. 11 attack is scheduled for Wednesday.

This is the problem with a compliant leftist media. They have run interference and protected this administration for so long, he wasn't able to perform in the debate the other night. You know as well as I do that if a republican were President it would be Benghazi all day all the time. Unfortunately for Obama's stenographers there is an alternate media out there now so they can't spike stories as easily as they could 30 years ago. As more information drips out it becomes increasingly clear how exposed the administration is on this issue. It doesn't help that the third and last debate is on national security and just saying "I killed Bin Laden" isn't going to cut it.

Many principled leftists like yourself will likely sit out this campaign.

On a separate note, we have friends who are wonderful people despite their liberalism . We rarely talk politics. Anyway, here is the point. In 2008 they were so jazzed about supporting Obama. They had THREE Obama magnets on their car. They posted on Facebook all the time about how much they loved Obama and couldn't wait to vote for him as they attended multiple Obama events. Fast forward to 2012 and there are no magnets on the care. No posts on Facebook and they don't even talk about it, although I don't know if they have attended any events this year.

Now this is anecdotal, it is very telling and makes me wonder how many more like my friends are out there. My guess is a lot. Will they still vote for Obama? My guess is that they will, but they aren't as excited about it. They won't be working phone banks etc.

We weren't defending anyone but the rebel terrorists .. the CIA created the situation so they could rush in and take control of the country .. which is exactly what they did.

The Libyan people were wildly supportive of Gaddafi, and why wouldn't they be? They got FAR more from their government than we get from ours. Gaddafi built the 9th Wonder of the World, the Great ManMade River, which supplies fresh water to millions of Africans .. in the middle of the desert.

There is a grand design to what we are doing in the ME. There is a purpose behind our horrors.

If what is being stated in the video is true, how in the fuck can anyone cling to the argument that Libyans wanted to get rid of Gaddafi .. especially after witnessing the largest protest in the world AGAINST NATO bombing and FOR Gaddafi? NONE of which has been broadcast by MSM.
